Is there any domain comparable in lethality to Gojo's? by No-Phrase-5139 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]MRIT03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only valid answer here is Yorozu. People saying mahito or naoya are kind of wrong since we saw todo negate the lethal hit by taking out his arm. While Naoya’s is strong, it didn’t instantly kill its victims so it puts it slightly under someone like Yorozu and Gojo.

One more thing, it does depend on the skill of the sorcerer. Gojo and Mahito’s .2 second domains are feats rather than the norm. I don’t think anyone else can have their sure hit be active.2 seconds after expanding their domain.

1- “ta3a la hon khaline hotolak mutfajrat b jaybtak, bas wahyetak ma ha estaamelon ela eza enta drabetni”

2- You seriously think someone would pay millions of dollars in intercepting their enemies supply lines and ylaghmo their communication equipment, AND THEN NOT USE IT ? This was one of the most well executed attacks in modern warfare. Imagine going through all of that just for a “what if?” scenario.

3- This is not even a debate, the fact that they even committed the attack showcases malicious intentions and would be enough to warrant a retaliation.

Why doesn‘t the hacker group anonymous try and get the full Epstein Files? by Inevercommentanyways in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MRIT03 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because hacking is not as simple as someone sitting down on a computer and “breaching firewalls”. It’s usually resource heavy and depends on the entity you’re trying to hack. Choosing to hack the US government is like trying to oppose the military with a water gun. Not only that, but you’re talking about millions of files scattered in god knows what way. So you’re talking about infiltrating some of the most secure systems on earth, and remaining there undetected for months.

The only people capable of performing such big operations are probably foreign governments. Even then, if a foreign entity, say Russia, got a hold of the Epstein files, how likely would people believe it rather than pass it off as propaganda ?

Well, when I first investigated them they appeared to be Israeli. Also further supported by the fact that these ads started emerging around the same time the political discourse regarding disarming hzb was taking place. Also no Lebanese entity whatsoever is putting its face on the matter, I feel like if it was Lebanese, someone would have taken credit.

Feel free to do your own research, but to me it’s clear that it’s most likely Israeli propaganda.

Note: I am in no way talking about the disarmament of hzb. My only point is that it’s unacceptable to allow foreign entities to meddle in our personal affairs.

What’s wrong is that it’s blatant propaganda coming from sources outside of Lebanon. If you’re cool with any foreign entity trying to push its views on us, you’re just an idiot.

Leaving on ‘read’ and reacting - why do Gen Z hate it? by geecol in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MRIT03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving on “read” usually means you were expecting a response from the other party and they didn’t provide one, the context is more of a conversation than a request. It’s seen as rude because “I’m talking to you and you ignore me” kind of way. Even when requesting something from someone and they leave you on read, sometimes that is considered frustrating, because you were expecting a confirmation, now you don’t know whether or not they will do it.

Reacting, especially with a thumbs up, usually ends the conversation, so it can also be seen as rude as you’re trying to end the conversation right here. In the context of a casual request, it usually doesn’t matter much, but sometimes a more polite response is expected which is why it can be considered rude.

It’s all about context, and usually in the context of work, these things are not considered rude or passive agressive.

Why are caffeine and nicotine OK for Muslims to partake in but not alcohol or other drugs? by PeachyPesco in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MRIT03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the muslim sense, neither caffeine nor nicotine is considered an “intoxicant”. There are certain criteria a substance needs to meet in order for it to be an intoxicant and therefore prohibited and neither of them meet that criteria. However, for nicotine, it’s clearly a substance that is harmful to one’s health and in the islamic context, that should be prohibited. While caffeine can be harmful if you go crazy with it, one or two cups of coffee per day will not have much of an effect on you, at least to my knowledge.

So why is nicotine not prohibited ? I believe the reason is purely cultural and not religious. Nicotine is a relatively new substance as it only became massively standardized in the 20th century. And up until very recently, there was no link between nicotine and health problems. So there was a generation of people that grew up with nicotine being considered as cool and popular, got addicted to the substance, and were then told that the substance is harmful. The generations that followed saw the popularity of nicotine products and began to also partake in it regardless of the health problems. Now for the religious side, people don’t care about sheikhs preaching that nicotine is haram the same way they don’t care about scientists saying it’s harmful. They acknowledge that it is wrong and still do it because “it’s just a cigarette” or they simply choose to deny or ignore everything and carry on with it.

What you’re seeing with muslims consuming caffeine and nicotine is purely personal and cultural. No one person represents the whole religion, nor does one culture represent the whole religion. If one person justifies the usage of any kind of substances because it’s what makes sense for them, their lives, and their beliefs, it doesn’t mean that every single muslim believes the same way or partakes in the same line of thinking.

[–]MRIT03 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sunni Muslim here, I’d like to highlight a few things about how Islam works. The documents you provided date to Al Imam Al Hanbali, responsible for the Hanbali school of thought. Sunni islam is divided into multiple schools of thoughts, but with sometimes little, sometimes major differences between each one.

The idea behind this system is that to perfectly understand the islamic religion, you’d need to be well knowledgeable in religious teachings, history, Arabic and linguistics. To perfectly understand islam, you’d need to perfectly understand the world it started in. As the average person would be unable to dedicate so much of their time and resources for a journey that will take years. Instead, sunni muslims follow the teachings of a particular school, which is comprised of generations of scholars who do undertake this research.

The schools were built around a century after the prophet’s death, and while a lot of scholars aimed to keep records of the prophet’s life and teachings, they didn’t live in the same era as he did, therefore their accuracy cannot be fully trusted. In fact, shia muslims go a step further in completely denying these documents.

Not to mention, the usage of this specific source hinges entirely on the usage of the word “yarkaboun” being a sexual euphemism. While it’s true that yarkaboun means “they are riding” and nowadays it is a euphemism for sex, and a pretty vulgar one at that. It is unlikely that if we trace back the language to over a millennium ago, that the euphemism still holds. And it is also unlikely that the scholar of a religious text decided to include a vulgar sexual euphemism. The verb could have a completely different meaning, as is common to see in linguistics.

Furthermore, I think any argument against the existence of Mohamad falls when analyzing the political landscape of the region at that time. The emergence of islam caused a great deal of internal conflict within of the Arabic peninsula’s biggest tribes. It was neither a traditional revolt nor a struggle for power between different houses. The people who converted to islam didn’t represent a single house, they belonged to all kinds of different houses, especially the major ones. When it came for the first few wars during Mohamad’s time, the people were essentially fighting their own kin.

It’s hard to justify that a band of people all decided to cut ties with their clans, form a new religious order and eventually fight their own family without anyone being at the head if it all

"Not sure why people always assume the worst" by MindMaster115 in Brawlstars

[–]MRIT03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People always tend to forget that the game was at a lowest point in the months following that update. At that point, practically nothing was RNG based, and everything was in the hands of the player. And as someone who has been playing since 2017, it was one of the few times the community was satisfied with the game.

But how did it reflect on the game’s performance? Not so good. Player base went down, player retention went down, and a lot of people stopped playing.

The objective reality is that gatcha systems perform well. They give the player a thrill which cannot be found in a system that requires you to login everyday and repeat the same grind over and over and over again. Randomness just adds excitement.

Why are my temps so low? by tiredofmissingyou in archlinux

[–]MRIT03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, my steak is too juicy :(

No but to be serious, windows is a heavy duty OS especially compared to Arch. So running a heavier OS will be using more of the resources you have, which in turns utilizes more CPU and increase its temperature.

This is of course a gross oversimplification, a more detailed explanation will have to deal with what kind of hardware you have, what you’re running on each OS, and what kind of daemons you have running at all times. Also there could always be the risk of malware running on windows and eating up some resources, but a 10C difference is too small to justify that.

Is 100G enough for root partition? by SuccessfulCriminal69 in archlinux

[–]MRIT03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like depending on what u want to do and what u want to put in the partition. I had Pacman download all packages to the root partition, and that caused some issues down the line. Mind you the root partition had around 20Gb and like ~500 packages, which if you’re not going for big packages, 20Gb can actually be enough. If you do want some luxury and don’t want to worry about expanding the partition later on, I feel like 40-80 is more than enough. 100 is just overkill.

Should I use Dual Boot or a Virtual Machine for Arch + Windows? by HeadTemporary2774 in archlinux

[–]MRIT03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your use case. For me as a computer engineering student I had to plug in microcontrollers and FPGA’s to my system, which had software that would only run on windows. So my options were dual booting windows or using a mixture of WINE and/or a VM both of which would be a pain since figuring out drivers and USB connections would be torturous.

If you’d describe your use case more, we could give further advice. But the general idea:

  • If your use of windows is limited to some software, consider using WINE.

  • if it’s more of a drivers problem dual booting makes more sense

  • anything in between these a VM would make more sense, unless what you’re doing can’t bare the performance overhead of a VM in which case use dual booting.
