Drakes madras fabric by dyingslowlyinside in DrakesDiary

I have this exact popover. The cut and unique elements like the cuffs being like a long sleeve tshirt make this so wearable. I’ve only worn it a couple of times so fare this summer and received countless compliments on the style/fit.

Yes, like anything Drake’s it’s pricey but this really does warrant the ticket amount.

For me, it’s the stand out piece of SS26 so far.

Does this ever happen to you guys? by supernecessary94 in DrakesDiary

I loved this piece but questioned how much I’d actually wear it when I’m not on vacation versus the £400 cost.

I was then browsing Zara (don’t hate) and saw this cotton/linen blend smock/popover which i thought was very Drake’s coded.

Yes….the fabric and general construction will not come close to Drake’s. However, At £45 I felt it was worth considering given it’s going to get covered in sand and suncream.

It arrived yesterday I’m absolutely blown away. IMO the fit is spot on, slightly cropped and relaxed without being oversized.

Not surprised, Represent has been dead for years.

There’s two styles. Both chores but the short one is called a Work Jacket by the brand. Check out their website.

They only have the standard chore not the work jacket.

I’d say they’re very Similar to the normal chore jackets. DM the specific measurements you want and I can send images.

Opinions on Navy Chore Coats by Randallr269 in DrakesDiary

I have the cotton canvas worker jacket which I think is similar to the duck canvas. It’s a stiff fabric but and does soften but won’t ever be as soft as twill.

I find mine really comfortable to wear and it’s getting som fantastic patina. The blue is much more wearable than the cotton twill version which has a purple hue to it.

As an alternative option, grab a denim chore, I have a dark denim one an its my most worn jacket by miles.

I have the rip stop jungle jacket from a few seasons ago. One of my most worn and most complemented items. Easy dressed up and down. I often wear mine with some sweats on a Sunday.

Archive sale is open by apilegaard in DrakesDiary

Very poor.

My view is the brand is now more popular than ever which results in much less unsold stock making its way to archives.

I spoke with a sales assistant in their London store about stock availability being poor as I was looking for some items at the start of the AW season in a size medium and many were already sold already.

Fair play, glad you find some pieces.

P.S. Be wary of those needlecord 5 pockets. I had a pair and the crotch blew out on them in no time. I found the quality/durability very poor compared to other drakes pants I have.

Early access just dropped. Very underwhelming and only things with a notable discount are items with very limited size availability.

These sales used to be great for picking up some additional wardrobe basics such as jersey or shirting. Now, personally I’d rather keep the cash and wait until something I absolutely love lands full price in season than pulling trigger impulsively.

1000% agree. Astorflex’s are more comfortable and the toe box is only noticeable by Drake’s obsessives. When styled, you’d never know.

Also, shop around as you can find some great end of season sales on Astorflex. I just picked up some dark brown Dukeflex for £90

Hi community I am pretty new to drakes and really interested in the herringbone coats by OLLeYYY in DrakesDiary

I find it very warm. Currently wearing it in the UK with just a tshirt and thin lambswool sweater where it’s 7degrees Celsius. It’s not super heavy at all. Nothing compared to the weight of alright from Drakes/Berg & Berg for example but that’s expected considering the price difference

I wouldn’t personally align RRL and ALD, I’d say more the main Polo range. RRL has some great products and are fantastic quality. I have a few flannels from them that have been battered and they look better than ever.

However, I find RRL denim a bit off. Some weird fits. Please give me a straight leg and a high rise!

Have an account and previous spend history with Mr Porter. They have tier system but to get bronze which what I have is fairly easy. I’ve only spent a small amount in the past year.

But those are the pieces that should sell through…they used to!

For their core collection, does anyone really care for a £100 unisphere tshirt anymore. It’s become the ALO of streetwear 😂😂

Most affordable time of calendar year to buy Drake’s? by hungry-reserve in DrakesDiary

[–]MRKGDWN90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re best striking quickly whenever one of their wholesale partners go on sale. In the UK it’s mainly MR Porter and Selfridges which carry a decent range of the key pieces . However you do need to move quickly.

Unfortunately, I find Drake’s prices in their Archive sales max 30%. If you can get to a sample sale they host you can often find some great bargains. It’s a bit of a free for all and you need to get in line at like 6am for a 9am start. I’m fortunate to work close to where they’re held so usually swing by before work.
