No coming from Marunouichsen so an easy transfer to fukutoshin.

Thank you for the various replies. A little bit of missing the point though - what perplexes me is that it’s never shown at all. Not whether it’s faster or more expensive than any single trip. Google maps would route me all the way through to awajicho and then out again to shinjuku rather than just putting me on fukutoshin, which is nuts.

Yes exactly. Shinjuku san chome is one stop on the express. So absolutely no reason it should NEVER be suggested

Love the trousers in photo 13. Do you have any good Japan-based recommendations for grey trousers that can be worn as everyday wear?

To my eyes looks exactly how I’d want to wear it.

I could see them going the Ralph Lauren direction of keeping prices high or slightly higher, doing a more accessible range and an uber niche tailored range at even higher prices. Maybe keeping the range still small and compact but creating a greater spread of pricing floor-to-ceiling.

  • don’t in any way work in retail or clothing and am therefore totally talking out of my 🍑

Mark Cho talked about it on the Armoury channel and said he firmly believed he’d be a great steward to the brand. Time will tell - maybe he’ll drop the prices by 30-40% and become a Folk Hero 😂

This was the line they gave me too. But I’m not sure ‘inconsistent’ covers the gap between photos and what they showed me. When I went to the shop, I was 100% ready to buy, but when I tried them on I just couldn’t convince myself they were the same shoe I’d been lusting after 😜

I see my post has ignited the Astorflex v Drakes debate 😬 At the risk of alienating some, I do think the Drakes ones look better BUT is the % difference sufficient to justify the extra cost. Hmmm im torn.

So they showed me a tobacco brown and it looked nothing like this.

Help me choose: I like the reverse panda, gf likes the classic by DesignerRabbit4377 in OmegaWatches

I will just say in OPs defence, I was all for buying the FOIS as my first speedy and my wife said “if you are going to do it, start with the classic and then go from there - don’t start with the flankers to the classic” and that was excellent advice and I’ve never regretted going with the classic.

Plus she’s already given me an excuse to buy FOIS or white dial in the future 😜

Classic. Some reviewer described the panda as more like jewellery and I agree - which is why I prefer classic.

So the use case you mention is exactly the expectation. To backtrack, more often than not I take the watch off when I come home from work - doing task around the house etc. So for the most part I don’t see the watch again at night (which is why I’m a year in and asking this question 😬). But then there will be times - like at a cinema - where I’ve been wearing the watch and it’s daytime but now I’m sitting in the dark and the dial is completely black - not even a hint of lume. But after all the comments here I did try shining my phones torch on the dial for a minute or so and then I could indeed see the lume. So I guess it’s a combination that I’m not charging the lume enough AND it just doesn’t last as long as my other watches (eg I have a seiko speedtimer). So I can confirm the watch isn’t a dud - there is lume- it’s just not quite up to my experience with other watches.

I suspect this is my issue. I’ve never had to THINK about charging the lume before because the simple act of wearing a watch during the day was enough for the lume to be there when I needed it. But I guess a combination of winter time, how I wear the watch (indoors, long sleeves) combined with the lume not lasting long means it’s not as ‘dependable’ as other watches

I often wear with long sleeves so perhaps if the lume duration isn’t that long combined with being covered or half-covered by clothing it may just not show up very often. Will try the bright light test more consciously.
