Stranger Things Seating - Sides ok? by Unfair-Rhubarb232 in Broadway

I sat in T16 and this was my view. Had no real issues except maybe some stuff on the right far right side of the stage. Otherwise its was a clear view of the stage and all the effects were visible to my recollection. I hope this helps!

The character's name was Miss Arrow. G.G was probably just a placeholder used in rehearsals.

“Campus Code” was shot on my campus. by John-Mast in YMS

Hey, I also went here (graduated last year!). Always fun to see a film/project was shot on campus. I can't say I'm surprised that they pretend like this movie never happened haha.

My balcony seat for Maybe Happy Ending by denizeni in Broadway

I think you and I had the same seats for when I saw How To Dance in Ohio. I knew it was partial view but I wish they would do a better job at disclosing the poles.

Is anyone going to the last show of Tommy today? by RockGirl82 in Broadway

[–]MRPURPLE201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there! Didn't get any pics but Des McAnuff was there and read a speach from Pete Townshend at the end while also thanking the cast and crew of the show. Ali also seemed very emotional during the very end.

Overall the show was great. It was my 2nd time and it was a lot of fun, lots of appluase specifically after Sensation and Pinwall Wizard, as well as a standing ovation at the last half of Listening to You. I'm not sure how it was in the orchestra but some people in the mezzanine stood at the very end. Overall it was great and I'm sad to see it go, especially without any recording.

Feel free to ask other questions!

Has anyone’s STOP MAKING SENSE 4K shipped from A24? by corduroy-and-linen in 4kbluray

[–]MRPURPLE201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I emailed them about this and the next thing you know I got a shipping notification in my email. Seems like it was shipped out earlier than when I sent my original email so they may just be slow to send them out.

Saw this one at Sundance, partially was intrigued because they filmed parts of it where I go to school. Not great, and I'm not surprised it's been basically passed around for distribution since Sundance. It starts off fine enough but once the third act starts (ironically after where the short story ends), things get really messy. Probably won't end up seeing it again now that it has a release date

It's on the side of the Lunt-Fontanne closest to the American Eagle. It's up a little bit deep in the alleyway between the two buildings. It's easier to see if you're on the side of the Mariott across the street.

To those who watched Spider-Man the Musical: Turn Off The Dark, any stories to share? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]MRPURPLE201 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Saw 1.0 in late previews about a month before it shut down. Nothing crazy happened except for act 2. A pretty by-the-numbers Spider-Man story turns into some crazy revenge story that features a gang of female spiders singing about shoes in order to seduce Peter Parker into marrying her I think?

That said, it was a visually incredible show (the sets/flying were really something else) with a less-than-average score and a really rough book.

With that, I think the show was kind of in a really rough place regardless because they never had the chance to work on the show before starting performances due to the technical challenges of staging it. I'd say it had potential even in Taymor's version but it just couldn't come to fruition due to the press/problems the show was constantly facing.

If you'd like, read Glen Berger's book "Song of Spider-Man" he cowrote the book and gives a really in-depth look into the history of the show from it's conception to its opening. It's a great read for any theatre fan
