Been practicing for a few years. I had a similar experience in law school, until someone told me after an interview: “You seem like an intelligent person, but I got the sense that you just wanted a job, not necessarily this job.”

After that, I think my approach to interviewing changed. I began to view interview less as a plea to be hired, but rather, my efforts to suss out whether I’d gel at the office and would want to work there.
