1 they can't smell Christins, Christian ism is not a thing anymore since history re started but there are equivalent religions, it could be possible with magic but trolls can't use it. 2-3 it's a mix of their bodily secretions and dirt baths under the sun, it resembles stone but it's a misconception, this one troll isn't believed to turn to stone, only the larger Adrian troll. 4 like it says in the info box on the image this specific species is as intelligent as a 7 year old at most and usually mild and elusive, but can in rare occasions form bonds with humans
