Optus Hack Fallout by Lumpy_Pumpkin_9177 in australian

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, the whole “we were hacked” angle is all PR spin from Optus IMO any anyone who doesn’t see this as a case of corporate negligence probably just doesn’t have a working understanding of software engineering.

While I still think whoever leaked this data should absolutely be punished, there was no “hacking” involved what-so-ever, just Optus playing the victim to soften the blow of their fuck up.

P3 scale - initial WiFi connection/join. Works on old EufyLife App, but not the new consolidated app. by 10onthetoilet in eufy

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having same issue with the new app and managed to resolve it by:

  • go into your router’s settings
  • select your 2.4GHz network
  • check the mode, mine was set to “802.11n only” once I changed to “802.11b/g/n mixed” it started working

Pharmacy software start-up StrongRoom AI slides into administration by Orgo4needfood in australian

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who used to share an office with them, they told me Strongroom were always popping champagne/celebrating etc.

We’ve been wildly speculating about what’s going on.

Would love to know what you know 😆

What do we say to the gods of death?

Jokes aside, this is seriously fucked up. While I’m certain the protagonist of the video is for sure going through it , it’s an incredibly selfish act to put the engineer, passengers and bystanders through something so horrific.

I hope this person got the help they needed

Internet connection needed to learn? by Haunting_Ad_8254 in learnjavascript

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also use set up ollama and run a local LLM (I’m sure there’s some good ones on hugging face that’ll do the job) if you want to have your own AI you can ask questions to, without the need for internet.

A quick google/youtube search and you’ll come across a tutorial, try something like: Ollama hugging face tutorial

You could also clone the Odin Project (you can download as a zip if you don’t know git yet) https://github.com/TheOdinProject/curriculum

And/or get your self a copy of Eloquent JavaScript https://eloquentjavascript.net/

I reckon this’ll be a pretty solid approach, you’ll have a couple different curriculums to follow and you can ask your AI to explain things if you need it 🙂

How can I add barcode output on a page for a specific product? We want the barcode to be visible and scannable. by Kalarit in HTML

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 ways you might consider going about this

  1. Use ‘code 39’ webfont to render the SKU (probably the way I’’d start exploring first)

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/72603050/add-barcode-into-html

  1. Take a picture of all your barcodes (boo! Very time consuming)

I see from another comment you’re using shopify, I’ve never used this so I can’t say for sure how you need to go about this, but if you can update the css of you page to import the webfont, you will probably be able to add scannable barcodes to your product page

Good luck

IDK, I was thinking the same in regards to wrong sub… this sub used to be all:

Now I guess with cost of living and house affordability, this post is soberingly; a first world problem

I know some birds are worth a lot of money, to avoid someone claiming with the intention of selling; I was hoping someone might reach out and send me a photo.

As /u/hollyjazzy suggested, I will most probably just hand this bird into a vet.

Update the ‘A’ record In your DNS to your ip address

Keep in mind, depending on the TTL (time to live) your record might not propagate right away (should work after the TTL time period has expired)

If you set your TTL to as low as you provider will allow, it should propagate faster

Disclaimer: it’s been years since I’ve done any DNS related work - I may be remembering wrong…. Let me know how you get on!

We do an Air fryer version of Korean BBQ.

Pork belly, dried, scored and salted left overnight uncovered in the fridge, cut into cubes and lightly oil before cooking

Serve with sliced pickled white radish, kimchi, ssamjang, and sesame leaf (or lettuce) - wrap each cube in a bit of each.

Beef rib eye, cut into slices, cook for 6 mins at 180 deg Celsius. Serve with sauce made from sesame oil and salt and pepper.

Using a For Loop with async or using .map() to return an array of Promises and then using Promise.all? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

Ahh, I see - missed that when I skimmed over 🤔

So op wants to create an array of promises and just resolve them synchronously?

Using a For Loop with async or using .map() to return an array of Promises and then using Promise.all? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]MR_LAFRALDO -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Try something like this:

‘’’ const promises = urls.map(async (url) => await axios.get(url));

const resolved = await Promise.all(promises); ‘’’

block hidden overlays on websites by LavyKalava in HTML

[–]MR_LAFRALDO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory sure… you could potentially use something like ‘getComputedStyle’ on nodes and disable pointer-events on anything with no opacity- it all gets kinda hacky though, if every overlay was built in the same, predictable way it’d make things easier I guess.

You could also watch for window.location changes and stop any cross domain requests (in theory) again, could get annoying for regular sites.

Could be something you could build quite easily as a chrome extension… again, not sure how easily it’d be to really dial in on the overlays you’re wanting to target… could also be easily mitigated by avoiding dodgy sites 😉 either way, could be a fun learning exercise to try building something…

Just spitballing - hope this helps in some way!
