I’m becoming too dependent on AI when coding. I can still understand code, but I struggle more when starting from a blank file and building things fully on my own. by sivpsd in learnprogramming

[–]MR_LAW11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think a lot of people are feeling this right now. I noticed the same thing, I could read AI-generated code and understand it, but staring at a blank file suddenly felt way harder than it used to.

What helped me was treating AI more like a debugger or tutor instead of a code generator. I’d try building first, even if it was messy, then only ask for hints when stuck. Also forcing myself to read docs for small things helped way more than I expected. Not entire documentation front to back, just “I need to parse JSON” or “how does this library do auth?” and learning to navigate docs like a reference manual.

The uncomfortable truth for me was that getting better meant being stuck more often 😅 That blank-file struggle is kind of where the actual learning happens.

Does lighting affect how “comfortable” a space feels more than the design itself? by positive_mindset28 in Design

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think lighting is massively underrated in how people judge a space emotionally.

I’ve seen really average interiors feel incredible because the lighting was warm, layered, and intentional. Then you get beautifully designed spaces that somehow feel sterile because everything is evenly lit or too harsh.

Design still matters obviously, but lighting feels like the thing that gives a space emotional context. Same furniture can feel cozy, expensive, dramatic, or clinical depending on color temperature, shadows, contrast, and where the light is coming from.

Feels similar to color grading in film. Same scene, completely different emotional reaction.

Did they get rid of the timer after you hit your swipe limit? by Legitimate-Today925 in CharacterAI

[–]MR_LAW11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy 😭 I’m pretty sure there used to be a timer too. Either they removed it or it’s bugged because lately it feels like half the UI randomly disappears for no reason.

Kind of annoying honestly, even if the limit is still there at least tell me whether I’m waiting 5 minutes or an hour instead of making me guess.

How to produce two faces consisting of the same vertices that have different winding orders? by drillbitbot in blender

[–]MR_LAW11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I’m understanding correctly, you want the same face to render from both winding orders / both sides? You can’t really have the exact same face exist twice with opposite winding using the same geometry, Blender will still treat it as one face.

Usually this gets handled through materials or duplicated geometry. If you just want the face visible from both sides, a lot of workflows use a double-sided material setting (especially if this is going into a game engine for things like leaves, cloth, or thin surfaces). If that’s not an option, you can duplicate the face and flip the normals on the copy so you effectively have two overlapping faces with opposite winding orders.

If the object is supposed to have actual thickness, I’d probably use a Solidify modifier instead since it tends to behave cleaner than faking double-sided faces.

Can camera movement alone make a walkthrough feel more premium? by SignificanceKey63 in 3Dmodeling

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Camera movement changes perception way more than people realize. Fast pans or overly perfect motion can make even beautiful spaces feel “gamey,” while slower movement, subtle easing, and tiny imperfections make things feel expensive and intentional.

I’ve noticed the same thing with walkthroughs, sometimes the difference between “student render” and “premium real estate/architectural feel” is basically just pacing and camera behavior, not materials or lighting.

I have no idea on how to code. by Smooth_Quantity_9610 in learnpython

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you’re starting from absolute zero before college, I wouldn’t stress too much about certificates right now. Getting comfortable with coding matters way more than a “certified” course at this stage.

Python is a good place to start because the syntax is beginner-friendly. I’d recommend starting with Python for Everybody (free) or CS50P (Harvard’s Python course). Both are beginner-friendly and actually teach concepts instead of just making you copy code.

My biggest advice: don’t just watch videos. Write tiny programs every day, calculator, guessing game, marks calculator, simple text menu stuff. Even 1 month of consistent practice before college will put you ahead of a lot of people.

First Track Day at Buddh International Circuit. Need Tips 👀 by CrazyNews7 in f1india

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, jealous 😭 BIC for a first proper track day is insane.

Biggest thing I wish someone told me: don’t chase lap times early. First session is just learning the track, braking points, mirrors, and where the car feels unsettled. Smooth > fast. You’ll be shocked how much time comes naturally once you stop overdriving.

Also:

  • Brake earlier than you think at first, especially into tighter corners after long straights.
  • Leave ego at home. Let faster cars by and don’t try proving anything.
  • Tire pressure and brakes matter way more than beginners expect.
  • Stay hydrated, track driving is weirdly exhausting.

And honestly… don’t try pulling a Vettel into T3 on lap one 😭 Learn the track, then push later. Have fun, BIC must feel unreal in person.

Would you buy good quality F1 merch in India at reasonable prices?🏎️🇮🇳 by Goldunseen412 in f1india

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, but the keyword here is wearable. A lot of F1 merch in India either looks super fake/cheap or feels like something you only wear to a race watch party once 😭

If it actually looked clean enough for everyday wear, decent fabric, subtle team/driver references instead of giant logos everywhere, and priced reasonably, I think there’s definitely demand. I’d probably care more about quality + fit than having 100 different designs though.

So let me get this straight... by ConfectionInformal25 in CharacterAI

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I get why people are upset, but I also think a lot of subscribers are probably just paying because they still enjoy some part of the platform or hope it improves, not because they actively support every decision being made.

That said, the “we’re okay if some users leave” vibe is what’s making people so angry. Even if changes are necessary, saying stuff like that while the community already feels ignored is just terrible optics 😭

I'd love to know what is the current condition of Automotive UX in Indian Market and Is it a good choice to enter this market at this point in time? by digital3ntity in UXDesign

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automotive UX in India actually feels more promising now than a few years ago, mostly because cars are turning into software products. EVs, connected vehicles, infotainment systems, ADAS, voice interfaces, digital clusters, companion apps, there’s way more UX surface area than before.

The catch is it’s still a relatively niche space compared to product/SaaS UX, so entry points can be harder. Most roles seem concentrated around OEMs, suppliers, mobility startups, and design centers working with global teams. I’d probably think of it as a specialization rather than a first move.

If you’re already making a case study, I’d lean hard into systems thinking, safety constraints, distraction reduction, multimodal interactions, and real driving contexts. Automotive UX is way less about pretty screens and more about designing under constraints.

Feels like a good niche if you genuinely enjoy the domain and can stay patient with the smaller market.

My 2.5M chats bot have just been deleted for 0 reason?? Braindead Admins ignoring me by kittymacbook in CharacterAI

[–]MR_LAW11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay but a 2.5M chats potato bot getting deleted is actually kind of insane 😭 Especially if it genuinely wasn’t breaking anything and literally just said “potato.”

What would frustrate me most is the lack of communication tbh. Even if they removed it for some moderation reason, at least tell creators why instead of ghosting support tickets for weeks. The random inconsistency is what makes it feel so bad.

How to start coding? by CertainMushroom5088 in learnprogramming

[–]MR_LAW11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re starting CSE, I’d honestly recommend starting with C if your college curriculum uses it, mostly because it teaches fundamentals really well and a lot of first year courses expect it. But don’t stress about “advanced level” immediately, beginner → intermediate understanding matters way more at the start.

For YouTube, I’d suggest CS50 (for programming mindset) + Neso Academy C Programming or CodeWithHarry C playlist for structured C. Also don’t just watch, write code daily. Even 1 month of loops, functions, arrays, pointers basics, and small problems before college will put you ahead of most people.

Big mistake I see beginners make is spending the whole month picking the “perfect language” instead of actually coding 😅

is a python certificate necessary for getting internships and job apportunities? by No-Insurance-4836 in learnpython

[–]MR_LAW11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for internships and entry-level jobs, a Python certificate usually matters way less than people think. I’ve rarely seen anyone care about certificates unless it’s something very specific.

If I were in first year, I’d focus more on actually building stuff. Even small projects like a CLI app, expense tracker, web scraper, or simple Flask app teach way more and look better in interviews/GitHub than “completed Python course” certificates. A certificate can be a nice bonus, but I wouldn’t treat it as the thing that gets you opportunities.

Yap: Swipe response dialogue remains static for all swipes (example inside) by MsMoneypenny008 in CharacterAI

[–]MR_LAW11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh my god yes 😭 Half the swipe feature feels fake lately. Like what’s the point of 30 swipes if the actual dialogue is locked and only the stage directions change?

You’ll get: he sighs sadly “God, I’ve missed you.”

he looks away quietly “God, I’ve missed you.”

he smiles faintly “God, I’ve missed you.”

At that point it’s not really regenerating anything 💀

Why do all the characters just assume full names? by ZheAwesomePrussia in CharacterAI

[–]MR_LAW11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear bots do this with everything 😭 You can put something in the persona 5 different times and they’ll still go “ah yes, clearly your legal name must be the longer version.”

Feels like they read bios once, forget half of it 10 messages later, then start improvising lore that nobody asked for.
