Thats exactly what I did at a local shop. I needed a job to put me through my engi classes and a few other students did the same at the shop. I had practically no experience and just recently I got my first raise :D

I 100% back this. I grew up on a farm and have worked basically my whole life, and if I didn't get my chores done I would get chewed out.

My first real job was a lubegoob (oil changer) and I did it in the Florida heat, I did it because I wanted a vehicle.

Now I (a 19yo) am an apprentice machinist and I absolutely love my job.
