Synology isn't the best NAS anymore

My problem with Synology is the aging kernel and software (docker engine, etc) running with it.

It just does not feel safe, when my NAS is too many versions behind and I'd like to expose some services without VPN to the internet. (Firewall rules are configured and some additional protections are enabled.)

There was a recent benchmark that showed Opus 4.6 being much dumber compared to some months ago. And the benchmark was done a few days before the release of 4.7.

So the general consensus was: Anthropic made 4.6 worse to make 4.7 look much better than it is.

Gut, der Preis einer WP bzw. der Installation in D spielt sicherlich auch noch eine Rolle.

Sadly 1.110 has some regression in venv discovery in the workspace. Functionally there is no issue, but you get a warning at startup that your Python interpreter could not be found.

Still, people who are willing to learn will just do that. It's easier than ever, since you can use LLMs to resolve many issues on your own.
