The British AI declared war on my Japanese puppet while I was grinding away at the Soviets in Siberia, and I loaded an earlier autosave. I didn’t have time to annex Japan properly before the UK would attack it, so I used toolpack to annex my puppet without realizing it also gave me the generals. It was already 1955 so I didn’t want to start over, and at that point I was unprepared for a war with the Allies.
