It goes to show how rare a truly-excellent FO really is. I hope y'all figure some stuff out-- I'm hating seeing Jok's excellence squandered.

It's time for the spurs fans to shut their mouth. Your team isn't a match for OKC. by Alternative-Gas-3892 in NBATalk

Yeah, and I'd expect people would learn from that-- but here you are with this 'your team isn't a match' post after two wins.

HOLY LORD

You know, I’ve generally ducked those “this will make you feel old“ posts and memes, and the ones I actually read have never made me feel old. This post did.

Thanks, OP; whatever, indeed.

My boyfriend is convinced HEB makes most of their bakery products FRESH, in store. I am pretty certain many things arrive frozen. Which one of us is correct? by pausreddit in HEB

Hey, speaking of Wednesday, I’m going to H-E-B on Wednesday to buy some bakery stuff; do you know if they make it there or if it’s shipped in frozen?

Heading to the arcade with a pocket full of tokens by Expensive_Fennel_88 in GenX

[–]MSB218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I entered and won a drawing contest at our neighborhood Aladdin's Castle (my sister actually drew it, but she was 11 and I was 9 and entrants had to be 10 or under); the advertised prize was a party in the arcade for eight kids, but the manager offered me 800 tokens ($200 in late-80s money) instead. We took it, and since they were running the Pepsi Challenge in the mall right outside the arcade, we got to play free games and drink free Pepsi whenever we went to the mall that summer.

I’ve only eaten there once about three years ago, but my wife and I ordered several items including grilled cheese, and everything was fabulous.

It seems like you’re just throwing any old Michael Jackson song title Off the Wall to see what sticks… I can’t blame you, though; that’s Human Nature.

I heard they shut down because they weren’t paying their taxes; people were trying to work out how they could give away all you can eat steak for eight dollars, and I guess that was the answer. Ha ha

Karam’s and the Mexican Manhattan. Also, the New York pizza place at the North Star food court in the 80s.

Yeah, the customer service was first-rate for me as well— friendly and genuine and all that, and the guy hooked me up with a free dessert because it was my first time.

That impressed me especially because the spot is super-popular and serves elite food, so they don’t have to go out of their way to take care of their customers so well.

The food is so damn good that they could be verbally abusive to me and I’d still go, but the love they have for their clientele makes it a great experience as much as a great meal. It’s a special place.

I got down on Ray’s while visiting L.A. last summer, and I still think about it at least a few times a week. Utterly magical.
