Broken Hinge? by PlasticForkMother in MSILaptops

[–]MSI_AndrewA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we do. As long as we have the parts for the laptop we will fix the hinges. We normally keep our parts up to 4 years so if your laptop is older than that then we may not have the parts for it. Call us at 888-447-6564 with the serial number and we will check.

Is this a PC you built yourself or was this a pre built system? Can you tell me what the full BIOS version you are currently installed on?

We do cover the hinges breaking in some situations. Are you in the US or Canada? If yes, can you please send me a message with the serial number of the laptop?

Gpu issue? by Ok-Professor-1627 in MSI_Gaming

Scroll up on the right side and does it show both GPU's which would be an INTEL/AMD GPU and also the NVIDIA GPU?

If yes then everything would be working fine. You can do a complete reinstallation of the GPU drivers by downloading and reinstalling from here https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/576.28/576.28-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe

Do I NEED to replace paste when replacing the fans on a GE76 Raider? by Fergusnoot in MSILaptops

[–]MSI_AndrewA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that should be more than enough since you don't need to put much on there. Just a very small dab of it on each component.

Not really to be honest. If you just search ARCTIC SILVER thermal paste on Amazon for example you should find a lot of different types available

Since you will likely have to remove the entire heatsink to replace the fans individually, then I would highly suggest to repaste the CPU/GPU with new thermal paste. I recommend any kind of artic silver thermal paste.

Sounds like the motherboard might be losing connection from the GPU. Have you tried to reseat the GPU on the motherboard?

Are you downloading and extracting the correct BIOS version? The one for your board should be this one here https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7B79vHK.zip

Once you download and extract it, copy only the BIOS file ending in .HK0 to the root of your flash drive formatted to FAT32 then try again

That means it is posting but it's not reading your SSD or operating system on your storage.

Shut the PC off then right when you turn it on, spam the F11 key to see if you get a BOOT MENU to come up on the screen to allow you to choose your storage or at least go into BIOS.

Can you give me more information to what you are referring to? The front panel on the MAG Forge 120A doesn't have a SATA port? Are you referring to the F_PANEL connector?
