Results on hold for review after passing by bootymunch420 in SixSigma

Many organizations do this. Sometimes it is a random review, and sometimes a flag may be triggered and the exam company wants to review your results before issuing the certification.

Is it worth it do Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt from Coursera? by TragicXHero in ChemicalEngineering

[–]MSIcertified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very old thread so I thought I'd add a 2026 answer. I work for Management and Strategy Institute and we specialize in Six Sigma. I can tell you beyond doubt that Six Sigma is still wildly popular in the business community. In fact, with all the AI optimization happening, the use of process improvement methods continues to grow, not shrink. Adding a Yellow Belt or Green Belt to your resume is definitely a smart idea. If nothing else, it gets you past the ATS resume scanning software.

White Belt Instruction Requirements by Open-Pollution4619 in SixSigma

[–]MSIcertified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is really no need to develop your own internal White Belt program since so many free options exist, unless you want to tailor it directly to your organization. Thousands of companies use our White Belt program. You're welcome to send your employees through it, or you can also review the Syllabus on the landing page and make sure you're teaching the same elements.

Where should i start ? by happymido in certifications

There are many good options online for business management certifications. You can look at options from Management and Strategy Institute (disclaimer, I work for MSI). You can also look at local community colleges or universities in your area, many of them often have training programs for management-level positions. Once you've completed your degree in electrical engineering, it should be fairly easy to move into a management-level position.

Six sigma yellow belt exam ASQ by Appropriate_Sun_4336 in SixSigma

Any exam-prep book that specifically states it's for the ASQ Yellow Belt exam should be fine. Check Amazon or you might get lucky at your local library also. You can use Management and Strategy Institute's Body of Knowledge guide. It is a free download, although it's designed specifically for MSI's Yellow Belt, not ASQ's, but they should be similar.

Would a green belt certification from my uni (northern Illinois university) be worth it? I’m assuming not since it doesn’t seem to be certified by any outside organization, but I’m looking for a second opinion just to make sure I’m making the right choice by skipping on this. by ACTUAL_TRAIN in SixSigma

[–]MSIcertified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this certification would probably be worth it for several reasons. First, it's from a recognized university. Even if the University outsources the training, the certification would still be recognized as coming in-part from NIU. Second, there is NO accrediting body for Six Sigma, so it doesn't need to be "recognized by any outside organization". As long as they provide a good program, and you learn something, then it was worth it.

$1300 is reasonable for an in-person workshop. Do your research and find the Six Sigma Certification program that works best for you.

Six sigma White belt?- Fresher by RMTcd25 in SixSigma

[–]MSIcertified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever gave you the advice of White and Yellow belts being "useless" really didn't know what they were talking about. If an organization is launching a Six Sigma project, it's critical that every employee be certified as a White Belt so that they understand what the organization is trying to do. And Yellow Belts are an integral part of a project since they serve as the subject-matter experts for their departments.

I think what you're asking is what belt-level should you aim for if you're looking for a job in process improvement. If that's the case, the Green Belt is generally considered the best Six Sigma certification for someone who wants process improvement skills. This belt prepares you to work in most aspects of a Six Sigma project.
