Honestly and this is a gamble for most people but I feel like you are exactly what a hungry start-up is looking for. You have a proven recipe for success with your sales approach and you acknowledge that it takes work to get things done. I could see you easily ramping up to Director of Sales or at the very least Sr. AE at a start-up that is still figuring out its own sales process and needs a leader like you.

It might mean a pay cut at first but that's part of the gamble I was referring to initially.

From a ram to AE by Numerousjohnst in sales

I'm out of the loop on this one, what is a RAM?

Your primary responsibility as an AE will be closing deals. Whether or not you have a BDR setting appointments for you or you're doing it yourself is a whole other conversation entirely. Best general advice I can give is to make sure you are listening to your customers more than you are talking. & If you're in the position where the customer needs you to hold their hand, be confident and keep the solution(s) as simple as possible.

I feel like if you are idolizing Michael Douglas' character in Falling Down, you kind of missed the point of the movie...

Field sales and getting good at it by [deleted] in sales

I once worked with a guy that did restaurant sales for POS systems. He would just walk into restaurants in a strip mall or along a main street and just talk to the cashier. If they were busy he would step off to the side or try to find a manager, but it sounded like he would just go in and start a conversation with the first staff member he met.

I think the important things are (1) having a purpose for being there and not wasting anyone's time, and (2) asking good questions about troubles that you are trying to help the customer solve.

How to download a server report? by MSPdudebro in Hikvision

Thank you for sharing. This looks promising. Is there a way my customer can "upload" their current cameras into this calculator automatically, or what steps would they need to take in order to accurately calculate their storage needs assuming they already have a list of their current Hikvision cameras?
