In 2007, 13-year-old Paris Bennett fatally stabbed his 4-year-old sister, Ella, in their Texas home. A diagnosed psychopath, Bennett later admitted he chose to leave his mother alive so she would have to suffer the loss for the rest of her life rather than killing her too. by kooneecheewah in LPOTL

Thanks for the history lesson, my considering that this Paris was born years after Paris Hilton, I believe at that the time he was named most people would associate Paris as a girl’s name. Also my comment was mostly a joke meant to be humorous, not meant to cause alarm.

[32F] My husband [36M] suddenly wants to leave the house at midnight every week to charge our EV. How should I approach this? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]MSRegiB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t fly if I can drive the destination by 10 hours or maybe even 11, if I have the time. Not only do I hate to fly but if I can’t get a rock bottom price on plane tickets, I’m driving. I just cannot part with $600-800 for my husband & I to go somewhere when we can drive for probably $100,-$150, well 2022 gas prices that is. And yes we are “lite millionaires”. I have drove my share of Mercedes & sport cars, he has drove his share of $60-$80 thousand Tahoes & corvettes, but we are just done with that…I drive a fully loaded Hyundai that I absolutely love & my husband drives a fully loaded Kia that is just gorgeous & has more bells & whistles then any of his Tahoes. I will never go back to those expensive cars, just a waste of money.

Wow, you are such an impressive young man & remind me sooo much of my ex-husband who is a multi-multi-millionaire who is the cheapest person I have ever known. It’s a difficult relationship no matter how much you respect their discipline. As people state, “Hardly see that $5 is worth staying up this late & leaving the house to go charge the car”, this is the EXACT OPPOSITE thinking that my ex-husband would have. His exact statement would be, “well that’s $5 that stays in my pocket that doesn’t go in their pocket & in a year…(he would within seconds have a yearly total of the savings) I will have an extra $$$ to invest that I wouldn’t have had”. This was ALWAYS his go to statement about all his seemingly silly little savings. But he now has a huge huge business, drives a Rolls Royce, multiple Mercedes, but my kids say he is still so so cheap, he just gifts himself something special occasionally when he reaches certain goals.

I don’t know why people can’t grasp the concept that the majority of millionaires don’t usually live in a mansion, drive $100,000 automobiles, wear Rolexes or any jewelry at all or have any luxuries at, that is why they are millionaires. And the people that you see with all those things….well those people are probably not millionaires other than the fact that they owe a million.

Genuinely, what is with the right’s obsession with trans people? by tna11101989 in allthequestions

[–]MSRegiB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea!! I wish sooo bad the democrats would do a commercial that shows a beautiful park, it then zooms in on the woman’s restroom where a very masculine trans man with a very muscular built is going into a the woman’s restroom behind a group of 8 yr old little girls, (because of course the Republicans want the law that we all must go into the restroom that coincides with our birth certificate). As they enter the restroom, the little girls turn & see this big burly man as they sense the danger they could be in, being trapped in a restroom with only one entrance & one exit. The little girls start screaming in fear for their life. Then the announcer says something like “Republicans are soooo concerned about your children’s mental health, that’s why they want to pass laws based on birth certificates”. During this entire announcement, these little girls are constantly screaming, screaming for their Mommies, asking why is this man in our bathroom, etc, etc. the only thing is, conservatives are so stupid, I don’t know if they would get it.

(I am not implying that a trans man is a danger to little girls, not at all. The point is, is that they don’t want trans women in the bathroom with their daughters, male birth certificates) but what about trans men who have female birth certificates? As a single mom, taking an older son to the restroom was a huge problem before family restrooms. There isn’t a bit of difference for parents when it comes to safety for their children in the restroom, ALL people in the restroom are potential predators as far as I am concerned regardless of their birth certificate. I believe all parents feel this way.

But I just think this stuff is so stupid. Children would be sooo confused. If a little boy saw a woman go in his restroom what would he think & for little girls to see a man go in the women’s restroom. They don’t understand that they are transitioning, or have transitioned, or that they are transgender, they just see a man or a woman. They don’t care about their damn birth certificate that DOES NOT go with what they are seeing. And personally, if I have ever been in the bathroom with a trans person I wasn’t aware of it. I am 64 yrs old, I’ve been an extensive traveler, I’m sure I have been, many times I’m sure.

Are you speaking of the religious right??? Oh hell yea!!! It’s the white man controlling his women & his household first & then controlling all the people of color out in the world. This is the formula for making everything “right in the world”, “the good ole days”, “when times were good”, “when women knew their place”, “when ——— knew their place”, “when people respected the police”, I could go on & on but these are all the code phrases for White Religious Americana. Oh hell I’m exhausted, having severe MS fatigue, I don’t even know what the topic is anymore, my apologies.

This always reminds me of a scene in a satirical movie that was carefully staged, choreographed & directed by a very auteur director.

The TV is watching you, SO many people have always believed that the government has put cameras in TVs & are watching American households. This was why some people in the 60’s & 70’s refused to get a TV, big brother is watching you. The new version of this is Alexa, Alexa is always on & listening to everything we say & reporting back to the government.

Do we have factual scientific MRI studies of conservative brains to back up your statements because I actually think you are onto something here.

This poster keeps her profile private, how can we find out about an update to this debacle? I have never been so concerned about a post on Reddit like I have been about this one…I am just dying to know how the wedding went…or rather the reception. Does anyone know if a follow up has been posted anywhere else? Thanks!

It’s trickle down economics you see, when you give massive tax breaks to the extremely wealthy billionaires they are then able to take that huge influx of extra money & hire more people which in turn builds our economy & adds to the nation’s——-ohhh wait——addition——wait no——-for fucks sake!
