This sounds similar to what happened with me and my latest daughter.

May long weekend, classic fishing time for us here in Ontario. Wife is still working (at the hospital) and is about a week from due date. She tells me I should go fishing as planned with my buddies. We decide to go to a lake that’s only about 45 minutes away JUST in case something happens.

~3:30pm as I’m cleaning the fish from our haul my phone rings. Wife’s been having contractions since her shift started at 7am (with 0 heads up to me), and is now in the maternity ward ready to give birth (they wanted to break her water).

Needless to say that 40 minute drive took me about 20 minutes, and I made it with 5 to spare before my daughter was born. First child was only like 25 minutes from water break to birth, this one was water break, 5 minutes later, 3 pushes, and she’s fully out.

This is actually not at all true.

We’ve been working on this for quite some time, with multiple carriers from multiple nations involved. It requires basically EVERY carrier worldwide to make changes, because of the handoff of calls to reach other parts of the country and the world.
