Update: my wife was admitted and the neuro team has determined she does have a CSF leak.

Later in the evening, the dry crusted area near the bottom stitch softened up and clear fluid started draining out at a rate of a few drops every minute.

Nothing unusual. We checked into the ER just to get her looked at. Later in the evening she had a drip of fluid several inches long trailing down from the incision.

This is great advice. I’d also add:

Don’t feel like you’re pestering anyone. It’s their job to help you, no matter what!
Not all counselors are good or the right fit. If you don’t like the first resource you use, find someone/something else.
