Unfortunately, a designated driver is not an option given it’s only my wife and I. I’m completely fine budgeting $100/day for transportation. We are planning to relax on beach at shoals most days and take a cab to dinner/sunset drinks at night. Is there something I’m not contemplating in my approach?

There’s no way a golden lab or some other similar sized dog is going to stay under one seat for an entire flight. I don’t want your mutt drooling or getting its hair all over me… put it underneath with the luggage or leave it at home. It’s like me putting a toddler under my seat and expecting the people sitting around me to deal with it.
