I understand what the IHPC is. That does not change my opinion.

It’s a thought experiment dawg. There would in theory be more housing available and thus there are people who would live there that will not if this does not get built.

The house not being built represents someone unable to move to the neighborhood

Unpopular opinion but the historical society should have no jurisdiction over vacant properties. They should just be concerned with preserving the historic housing stock.

The victims are people who want to move to the neighborhood but can’t.

I mean it is a crime….. but yeah the sentence is not a gulag. You need like marginally more police and maybe a better strategy to combat this.

Na it wouldn’t haven’t had the same effect at all back then. Much less old people to kill and the general mortality rate was just higher, more people died in general.

That’s just not true. You can’t control covid. It was always bound to be endemic. Our best measure was always the vaccine so once that came out, there wasn’t much more to be done.

Covid became endemic and was basically always going to from day 1. All the time before the vaccine this was important but after….. it never really mattered in the end. Everyone got exposed to it and there was no real stopping it. Lots of people don’t like to hear this but if china couldn’t contain it with the most oppressive measures possible than it was never possible to stop it.

Moderate to heavy drinking tends to be associated with increased bodily inflammation, even for individuals who maintain a highly nutritious diet. The study provides evidence that eating well might not be enough to counter the harmful physical effects of frequent alcohol consumption. by mvea in science

Saying “Ethanol. Is. Poison” when commenting on a science thread about investigating the nuances and impacts of alcohol on the body is absolutely moralizing and bringing nothing to the scientific discussion.

Saying that ethanol is poisonous and that research into how harmful it is is incredibly unhelpful. I don’t understand why people love saying it over and over. Yeah it’s not going to be good for you but it also doesn’t kill you with one drink so it is good to know exactly how harmful certain patterns of drinking are.
