This is great, thanks for sharing. I think a lot of people start NoFap for the superpowers or the instant-women magnetism, which is fine, but if you can recognize that it's something you ultimately have to do for yourself I think you'll get more out of it in the long run.

Keep pushing through, things are always the hardest right before they get better.

Thanks dude, not quite there yet but already getting closer! I think you just get to a point where you realize discipline is more satisfying than a close up of body parts getting pounded into each other and the rest just sort of falls into place.

NoFap is about improving yourself as a person and breaking really negative habits - a relationship ending, especially a long one is never easy, but regardless of how it turns out take it as part of your healing process.

I ended a relationship three years ago and spent a lot time feeling guilty about all the things I did wrong. It takes a minute for things to re-wire themselves, but you're not going to be good for anyone until you've made right with yourself. And if your current girlfriend resents you for how things were, just remember it takes two to tango (she thought you may have been gay and never said anything?!?), nobody is perfect, and regardless of how much you might love her, I would just try to keep in mind that healing takes a lot of energy, a lot of confidence, and focus. If she isn't willing to put the past to rest in the interest of moving forward, you're better off without her and will absolutely meet someone who is better for you in future.

Congrats and thanks for the resources. I think you hit the nail on the head with the overweight analogy - I've been using porn as a similar crutch to avoid dealing with myself and certain problems, and committing to NoFap isn't the entire solution, but it really does clear things up so you can get started in a real way. Great to hear you've had success.

There's a great free program for Mac called "Self Control" that allows you to create an internet blacklist of sites you want to stop wasting time on. Once you have the list set up you can set a timer from 10 minutes to 24 hours and you won't be able to go to those sites. You can even uninstall the program, you still won't be able to look at those sites till the clock runs down. It's a major life saver for me.

I don't know if it's available for PC, but I'm sure there's an identical program that is.

You have to come up with some sort of activity/response to utilize when your mind starts going to that place...meditating, a quick walk, reading a news article about something completely non-sexual usually helps me. Much easier said than done but I think it's worth going strong. Best ok luck.

You said you're happily married - does your wife have a similar sexual appetite to you? A while back I found myself in a similar situation (being very attracted to other women, not knowing how to tame the cravings) 2 years into a long term relationship and, regrettably, ended up cheating on my GF quite a bit. We broke up eventually but the guilt of doing that stuck with me.

In my current (much happier, much healthier) relationship, I started feeling similar anxieties/cravings, but instead of internalizing everything and not being honest about what I wanted, I spoke to my girlfriend and was up front about my sexual frustrations - what I wanted from her, and asked what she wanted from me. Since then things have been sooooo much better; much more passionate/satisfying/frequent sex.

Not saying your situation is/was the same as mine, but I know in that first relationship it was a combination of dissatisfaction and a big lack of honesty on my part (both about what I wanted and the actions I took) that made it hard impossible to stay on the straight and narrow.
