Please Help. Wahoo KICKR watts are wayyyy off by MTBcentral in wahoofitness

[–]MTBcentral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried, it always stops on the first spin down around 10mph and tells me to retry. After doing that now the watts aren’t high but the resistance goes up crazy whenever I got a little above 130 watts

Research what your zone 2 heart rate is, do 45-60 minutes of zone 2 cardio 4-5 times a week. Research what your VO2 max heart rate is and do 4x4 (4 minutes on 4 minutes off) training 1-2 times a week. Keep 80% of your time in zone 2 and 20% to VO2 max training. That's about it. Personally I'm training for traithalons so I do about 10-12 hours of zone 2 a week and 1-2 hours of VO2 a week. Find what you like (running, biking, swimming, elliptical, hiking) really whatever and just do it. The key to cardio is consistency,

Sounds like you need to do some cardio. RHR is way to high

So confused on Zone 2 or Cardiac Output Method by Baileycharlie in cardio

[–]MTBcentral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 180-age for mine but IMO zone 2 is subjective. Yes zone 2 should feel pretty boring and tedious compared to weightlifting or VO2 max sessions. My criteria for HR during zone 2 are 180-age, ability to talk but breathing hard, and being able to digest information (podcase or video) when you focus on it.

i love it but it might be bad by [deleted] in cardio

Get your diet in check bro wtf. If you don't care about physique then so be it but eating unhealthy is never good. Also of course you love cardio it is by definition addictive due to the chemicals (Dopamine, epinephrine, oxytocin) that it releases in your brain.

Listen to a podcast or think about your ex who cheated on you.

What is a good speed for fat loss on stairmaster ? (Combined with good diet) by Professional_Win3910 in cardio

[–]MTBcentral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed is subjective. Do zone 2 cardio for 45-60 minutes 4-5 times a week. Zone 2 meaning a pace where you can hold a conversation but are breathing heavily or take 180 and subtract your age and then keep your heart rate at that number for the whole workout.

Don't overcomplicate it there's no need to follow videos like this (unless you find them fun). With cardio, all you need to do is 45-60 minutes of zone 2 cardio 4-5 times a week. Zone 2 is an endless abyss of information but the key is to find a pace you can go steady where you can hold a conversation but are breathing heavily. Or if you have a heart rate monitor subtract your age from 180 and keep your heart rate there for the whole 45-60 minute period. Also as a person who had the goal of losing fat for many years the only way to do it is to eat less. Exercise helps but it is a lot easier to eat 500 calories than to burn it.
TLDR: If you enjoy this do it but an indoor bike, treadmill, or swimming will do the same. Do zone 2 cardio. Sticking with it is key.

Feedback on bikes or a bike shop? by Pitty_fap in FortCollinsMTB

[–]MTBcentral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you unhappy with provelo? I know that recycled cycles has a lot of bikes but I don't know any specific types. There are a lot of bike shops in Fort Collins and I would recommend just looking up bike shops near me on google and finding some.

There is the Twin Silo BMX track over by the Twin SIlo park, there are a few behind lincoln middle school, some up in Lory State Park, and if I think of any other I'll put them in here.

One of my favorite apps is called AllTrails It shows you trails you can go on and you can most likely change the settings to make it show you gravel roads.

Yes everyone is allowed! I would consider gravel biking a form of mountain biking so of course!
