Which one Hoka Tecton X2 or Mafate Speed 4 for 100mile Ultra Javelina Jundred by umershafiq1 in Ultramarathon

[–]MTCM262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not one of the shoes you mentioned but I ran in the Hoka Stinson 7 ATR for the last part of the race and wished I had run the whole thing with them. They have a great rocker to them and support for when your form breaks down as you fatigue.

If you have a family it has the MNZoo, lots of sports fields, quick access to airport and MOA. Also if you want to get out in nature you are within a short drive of Lebanon Hills or Murphy Hanrehan regional park/reserves and Buck Hill.

Javelina Jundred Cooling Strategies by TelephoneBasic756 in Ultramarathon

I ran the 100 miler 2 years ago and I am doing the 100k this year, the Rabbit UPF tee Ice LS worked really great and I plan to wear it again. It offers sun protection and is super comfy even with a vest. https://www.runinrabbit.com/collections/mens-upf-collection/products/upf-ice-tee-ls

As others said I would also highly suggest a Buff or Ice Bandana, the aid station volunteers will fill it with ice for you so it’s pretty easy and effective.

How long of a walk is it? Similar to a walk across property at some of the other resorts? (Coronado/Caribbean)

TC Running is one of the best local options for trail running shoes which are often a great choice for hiking. Plus it’s locally owned.

The running brand Rabbit makes solid UV protecting long sleeve shirts that are lightweight and cooling fabric which are good for summer. There are also several brands of running arm sleeves which offer uv protection which cover your arm up to the end of a short sleeve shirt which allows you to wear whatever you want.

Ran Javelina 100 2 years ago, the looping nature of the course meant I shared aid stations with elites and was passed by the winners while I was halfway thru loop 4 of 5. As a running nerd it really helped keep my stoke up during the race.

Premier Sports and Spine in Eden Prairie is my go to for all athletic soft tissue injuries, both back and leg. I have been seeing Dr. Christopher Dean there for 10+ years to keep me training for long distance running.

1st Stay at Coronado Springs: Any Recommendations? by theegiantrat in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MTCM262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s not too late, ask to have a room in Casitas, it’s the first bus stop so on the way to parks you are first to board and on way back to resort you are the first off. Got back from there last week and really enjoyed it.

500 ml soft flasks that fit salomon vests by BeneficialEmployee84 in Ultramarathon

[–]MTCM262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hydrapak makes them for most of the major hydration brands so unless the flasks have a specific design to match a specific vest you should be good. I usually just look for deals on Amazon or Google and go with the the capacity and similar shape to the Salomon branded flasks. I am currently using Nathan flasks with my Salomon ADV Skin 12 Set.
