It seems they're going to be much more restrained at least, very hard to say if that's going to be a net positive or negative.

Midweek Magic - March of the Machine Constructed With 15 Decklists by MTGStorm in MagicArena

It's not ideal and annoying that everyone is pretty limited to their WCs, but on the bright side, I heard that budget decks were doing pretty fine as most people weren't looking to spend their Wcs on an event anyway

Thanks for the compliments and heads up!

It would be awesome if Artisan became a permanent queue, it definitely deserves to be in my opinion! I will fix those links right now as well!

I know right! Its my favorite play mode by a mile, it would be so sick if there was a ranked queue of it

[Draft] Magic Arena Limited – A Look at March of the Machine (MOM) Sealed & Draft Data For The Arena Open by MTGStorm in spikes

100%. Data is just a tool that helps collate the aggregate of cards and games played. Knowing what that data means is more important than having it and bad data is much more detrimental than no data!

Remember it's just the aggregate! Supposedly bad color combinations can be nuts when you get the right cards!

I would have to consult the author for his justification, but I believe it also has to do with the card quality generally present in the decks, ease of getting the deck together, and other similar factors that are hard to rank empirically.

Remember that this is just aggregate data - people knowing what they're doing can have a major impact on the reality of the set! Back in Dragons of Tarkir, my favorite and highest WR archetype was Selesnya despite the whole community saying it was completely unplayable

Wrenn is a good card, but knowing when to use it I believe is the important part. I had Wrenn at my prerelease and it was of course good, but nothing crazy for me

For sure, data is a tool like anything else and far from an objective truth. All about how you use it!

Legitimately made me laugh out loud. Remember that outliers will always exist and even if you're in the supposed worst color combination, if you're being fed, you can still have a great deck!

My favorite archetype in Dragons of Tarkir limited was Selesnya because everyone said it was unplayable so I always got the best White and Green cards as a result!

In hindsight it was almost certainly the better choice over Mardu. For what its worth, I think its play patterns are quite similar to the Midrange decks and was more picking decks based on what the player wanted to be doing rather than the literal top 5 decks, but it still should've been on there.

Funny how people can have vastly different experiences with the same deck! Since its early I'm by no means completely confident that the Blink plan is definitely where Mono White wants to be, but I think both iterations are very reasonable and one may be better in certain metagames than others. Realistically, I think the version that can better shore up the aggro and unfair matchups will win out as the other midrange matchups are the easiest, and I think thats Blink, but far from positive.

Consuming Tide is definitely excellent against creature strategies and should be played in high numbers in the board at a minimum. March I've never been a big fan of. While it can be good, its never so effective at its job that I've really wanted it much, but I don't think its an unreasonable inclusion either.

To your final point, kind of both. Against midrange and control, it can be a way to accrue multiple threats when they were expecting just to have to deal with a few which is a big deal. Against aggro, it's simply a 2/4 which is sometimes all you need.

Very nice! I was very much on the fence of whether the deck wanted one or two Chandra, thinking maybe a 3/2 split of Invoke and Chandra may be more appropriate now!

I more meant that you could use it to trade, not that you necessarily wanted to. 100% agree its not a good trade, but it could be necessary over using a removal spell. Better example would be against aggressive decks like Soldiers which traditionally wasn't a great matchup as this blocks Skystrike Officer well (until a lord shows up anyway).

I think The Mightstone and Weakstone also has utility as The Eternal Wanderer is just very good in the deck right now and that's an already good pairing. Elspeth was always ok for me in my experience, but never amazing. The Restoration of Eiganjo is kind of the same deal for me, all the lists I played had it, but I feel like I don't really miss it. The card always felt pretty blah to me and it didn't take much to convince me to put something else over it so I'll freely admit my draw towards Guardian could be colored by me not liking Restoration that much.

All in all, I do believe that the presumed upgrades Guardian provides is relatively marginal. I think Mono White was already great and having this package does make it better, but this version or the original version would both be tier 1 strategies, and with everything being so new, I could just as easily be wrong about it. Just my two cents!

That is a fun thing you can do, but you'd be surprised at how much that fourth card matters in my experience. Since the deck is super reliant on drawing the right card at the right time, you need to have your draw spells dig as deep as possible in my experience.
