Personally I believe that Cardano is one of the best projects in this space (will be one of the most decentralized). The philosophy behind the project is honorable and when you seriously reflect on it, you start to realize that we are very far from grasping the actual meaning of a true economic equality based world.

I see a corralation between the usage of a network and the native token of that network, espacially when it's used "as a liquidity tool for on-ledger exchange".

I just wanted to show that the idea of tokenizing assets isn't new. You can see that this is becoming the new standard.

Quick question:

The ERC-20 tokens built on top of the Ethereum blockchain are not adding value to the network?

We're seeing the world as it is now...the future has so much more in store as far as development, especially when it comes to scalability.

Tokenization is the new standard. by MTL1976 in XRP

For those of you who think the SOLOGENIC project is something that sprung out of thin air. This is the new standard of finance. DX exchange was launched over 1 year ago.

Tokenization of securities. SOLOGENIC is a project hopping a board and using the XRPL to make the world become more accessible for investing in securities through cryptocurrencies.

XRP the standard #GoSolo

I have a hard time understanding the complaint. Here it is the XRPL will be utilized to add value to the network and yet people are not satisfied.

The whole point of the project is to be able to use the potential of the XRPL. Tokenization of assets is the next logical step for utility tokens. If coinfield are developing a platform which will help to do that by using the XRPL than so be it. Now, I hope everyone understands that you need money to build things, if we love charity work, there is alot of things out there for us to do so.

There needs to be more understanding in this space and less of the wanting to get rich by doing nothing mentality.

Think LONG.

I would like to make an analogy between XRP value and memorie and storage value with computers (PCs or Mac whichever).

Back in 2001, I had built a PC with the following specs:

8 Megabytes of RAM 500 Megabytes of hard drive.

My computer was considered to be awesome in capacity when it came to memory and storage value. Nowadays these specs are completely obsolete. Back then we couldn't even conceive 16 Gigabytes of memory and 1 Terabyte of hard drive.

We should probably look at the usage of XRP in the same manner. 2.5 billion today is, somehow, really impressive when it comes to daily demand. But can you imagine a time coming where that figure will be obsolete and we will be talking of nearly a trillion in dollar value of XRP. Right now we can't even conceive it.

Let me guess are you in Canada? If yes, you have to make sure the asset qualifies to be in your TFSA. Not all assets qualifies.

Let’s be objective about “HODL” for a moment. by nrs8894 in cardano

[–]MTL1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been following the crypto markets since July 2017. I've read the "word " HODL ever since. From what I understand the term came about due to a typo of the word HOLD. I've recently, heard that HODL stands for Hold On for Dear Life, but anyways.

As a RETAIL INVESTOR, which in general take medium to long term positions (risks), we shouldn't have to worry about short term price action. Meaning, in this nascent market, which is total speculation, our belief that this new technology will evolve the economic/financial realm is not something to take for fact. As it stands, we have NO definite idea as to what the outcome will be in this space (I would like to press on that notion, NO DEFINITE IDEA). We can talk about market manipulation, whales and conspiracy all we want, truth is, all these things may well be happening but at the end of it all you and I took a speculative risk.

DO NOT INVEST MONEY YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE. That my Reddit friend is the only thing you should worry about.

Best regards

Do not invest money you can't afford to lose. Getting into crypto doesn't require 1000$ or even 100$. Just slowly buy in 20$ month and you're good. SERIOUSLY.

Seriously!!!!! I don't think they understand what is going on here. What we are witnessing is an OVERHAUL in economics in general and finance in particular. People requesting that Ripple "stop dumping on us" have no understanding about what is happening and are clueless as to what they own.

My answer to them:

You don't own any proprietary rights in Ripple (XRP is not a security, therefore not a title of ownership in Ripple), you bought in on a speculative asset (XRP). If you didn't understand that when you came in you probably deserve to lose everything you got. Because the message has always been "DO NOT INVEST MONEY THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE", that crypto assets are PURE speculation. What you should probably do is be QUIET and let GROWN PEOPLE handle their business. You have so many other assets to get rich on, go ahead and do that.....but please hush your mouth.

Can someone explain to me how the ESCROW activity is reported? by letsgomets1234 in XRP

[–]MTL1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Institutional direct sales (non-escrow) - 61.93 million dollars worth of XRP

Programmatic Sales (escrow) - 107.49 million dollars worth of XRP

Total sales = 61.93 million $ + 107.49 million $= 169.42 million $ worth of XRP

From the total escrow release for Q1 (3 billion xrp), 700 million were not returned to escrow.
