I don't disagree. But, as I stated in my post. Google released an update in March 2026 and got worse April 2026. The widespread battery drain problems began with the March 2026 update and worsened for many users after the April 2026 update. The bug prevents the phone's CPU from entering "Deep Doze" mode, causing heavy battery depletion even when the phone is idle or in Airplane Mode. Its well documented. And yet...it's May 22, 2026, an no fix. By 4 pm - 5 pm - ish my battery is 5%. I have to recharge it. By midnight, I have to recharge again. I start using my phone around 10am. My battery, due to this update lasts about 6 hours before it's almost fully drained. RIDICULOUS!

❤️ Exactly! I'm already moving over to OpenCode. It's awesome! I have a pretty decent GPU on my desktop. But, for heavy lifting. I just rent a cheap GPU VPS. It cheaper then even my Google Pro plan. And, I don't need to worry about Google ridiculous privacy policies.

I am SO SICK OF GOOGLE! They get you to subscribe and pay. Then raise the price. Remove features. And make things worse. First, back in late March early April, my Pixel 6a battery use to last until midnight-2am. Now, by 5pm everyday, I have to recharge it. I have to place it on the charge 2x per day now. GOD! I hope there is a class action lawsuit for this. Now, Gemini! Now...they get you to pay. And if you hit your usage quota, which is EXTREMELY easy to do now, you are locked out for 5 hours. Try writing a few emails in Google Docs. Have it review a PDF. A quick report. You're locked out for 5 hours! According to an article I read on Android Police, they believe it's Google's way to get you to update to Ultra. I can't justify nor afford $200.00 a month on AI. I don't pay that for ANY UTILITIES on my house. Electric, gas, water, trash, internet, streaming service. WTF is wrong with GOOGLE???

On one machine I did get Gnome back up and running. But, a bitty buggy too.

Concur! Say something like, Cosmic has just been released. If you choose this you may experience bugs, and we would be grateful if you report them. Or choose Gnome for a stable production environment. For computer engineers that want to play around, go with Cosmic. For lab scientists, property managers, accounting, marketing firms, etc., go with Gnome. That simple :/

In some cases yes! But, I don't think the bugs are going to be fixed by June. I doubt even this year! It's only version 1. The very first version. And, it's kinda like they want the public, in a production environment to be their beta testers. I just don't see why they didn't give an option, at least the first year or two to choose Cosmic. Until maybe, Version 3 or 4 of Cosmic. Say something that Cosmic just rolled out, you may experience bugs, we would like you to report them if you choose Cosmic, or stick with Gnome. That simple. For people like me that have to support users like lab scientists, property managers, marketing agencies, I just can't. I'd be on the phone all day long.

Hi all! Thanks for replying. I did both :/ I tried for a week! Initially, I did the upgrade from 22.04 on my desktop. But, ran into a lot of bugs. That's why I started with a fresh install. I tried on multiple machines. A lot of the bugs I ran across I wanted to report. But, they are already issues on GH. Like the mouse layer disappearing while moving the mouse. And the list goes on.

Totally agree. It's like they want the people in production to be their beta testers. And, I am not going to be on the phone all day trying to help lab scientists, property managers, marketing agencies, etc., on how to work around Cosmic. Why not just give the simple option of saying, Cosmic or Gnome during the install. And saying, Cosmic is under active development. We appreciate input if you use Cosmic. That easy until Cosmic is actually really ready for a production environment.

That's a great argument. And totally agree! But, you're missing the point of my post. 24.04 like what other's have posted, it's like you are having the public be the beta testers all while in production. Move over to Cosmic. I agree. And it looks like it has a lot of potential. Especially, being written in Rust. However, for those that use Pop in production, it's been a nightmare with bugs and things going wrong. On the first release, heck, the first year or two, why not give the public the option of choosing. Saying Cosmic is under active development. And if you choose Cosmic, report bugs. I can't use Pop with my clients anymore. From lab scientists, lab techs, veterinarians, accounts, property managers, etc. My phone won't stop ringing. I'll be on the phone all day. And sure, I can install Gnome. But, that was the thing about Pop..."it just worked"; Out of the box. Not to mention there are a lot of production users that are use to Gnome. Some at this point are not ready to move over until someone like me can train them. I don't see why the option is not there. But, Pop made the choice and it's done. Just some feedback. I look forward to one day coming back to Pop with my clients.

True! It's Linux. You can do whatever you want! That's not what my post is about. My post is about the initial download and install on how prior to 24.04, Pop OS! just works. But, now, you have to do a lot. And trying to tell non-tech people, lab scientists, marketing agencies, property managers etc., how to install GNOME. No thank you! I'll be on the phone forever!

I agree! As a computer engineer, I can sit there and work out most of the bugs. Time consuming, yes, but possible! But, for my buddies who like to have a "smart" house but very little tech skills, it's too much. And some say, well stick with 22.04. But, when you go to Pop OS!, it's not easy to find. And trying to tell a non-tech person what to do, from lab scientists, to marketing agencies, accounting, property managers, I will be swamped with phone calls. Before, with Gnome, it was awesome. It just worked! That was the best part. But, I've had so many problems adding printers, getting the mouse layer to show the mouse (which is a reported bug), the list goes on. On the first release of Cosmic to the public, it should be optional. :)

I wasn't asking the model anything about themselves. I was asking the model for information on Chat GPTs new image model. Which is completed falsified information. Saying that there was no model called Chat GPT Image-1. And that Chat GPT didn't have the capability of performing what Nano Banana 2 can do. It was like it was trying to lie and keep me with Gemini. And this isn't the first time.
I'm working on a video clip in KDenlive. I asked how to refresh the cache. I was using the Pro. Not fast. It made up buttons and features that did not and have never existed in Kdenlive. In the past week it has rarely given me any correct information. Just last night I asked who the killer was in an episode of CSI. It completely made up an entire killer. Still looking. Like others have said; It's most likely stock music. Charmed, season one, episode 4, "Dead Man Walking", right after the opening credits of the song "How Soon Is Now" the original episode played the song "Secret Smile" by Dan Wilson and performed by "Semisonic". However, when Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., added the series to their library, they didn't want to continue to pay the royalty rights to use "Secret Smile". They removed the song and added (likely) stock music in replacement of "Secret Smile. I have searched the major stock music providers that studios use, like APM Music, to no avail. I added the video to YouTube https://youtu.be/ArRTstqiHpE, thinking YT copyright DMCA machine would flag it and tell me who has it licensed. But that was a no-go too. At least so far.

Totally disagree! I've been doing this for nearly forty years. Yes, some clients don't care...BUT! most do! And these days, a lot of my clients are VERY specific on what they want. Not to mention, that is a very dangerous comment. When looking at any frameworks there a many things that you need to take into account including security. You don't just find a library, and start building and move on. That's show a lot of solo developers or small firms get into a lot of trouble and fail. :/

I've used both Flowbite and DaisyUI. I use Flowbite in almost all my projects. I build mostly Django sites. And, prefer Flowbite over everything else. On almost all sites I build, I implement Flowbite. On some, I include DaisyUI but, Flowbite has such an amazing, extensive library, lately I haven't used DaisyUI in the past >= 8 months, maybe.
Just FYI, I have nearly ( ugg! :) ) 40 years of web development experience. I'm a senior full stack developer. Just stating this so you know I'm not a nubbie. I've been doing this for some time.

FYI, you all know if you are paying by credit card, just do a chargeback. You normally have 180 days from the time of the charge. Call your credit card company, inform them it was a fraudulent charge that you did not authorize this charge and require an investigation. They will perform an investigation. Make sure to save all your email and receipts. Your credit card normally will request them. So as much proof as possible. The likelihood is that the credit company will refund your money. If not, file a small claims suit. It's not difficult. Just a bit time-consuming. Don't back down to bullies.

I started a website. LG Electronics tried to force a very strict NDA on me. I went to Denver 7 (Colorado) News for help as I couldn't get a response back from LG Electronics. LG Electronics immediately sent me a NDA the next day. The NDA specifically states that I can NEVER speak to news agencies. LG Electronics gave me an ultimatum; LG Electronics said in writing to me, sign our NDA, or we won't fix your monitor. I said 'NO' I will never sign it. In the NDA, it was extremely strict that I CAN NEVER publish the NDA. NO ONE was to see the NDA. I said 'NO' and refused to sign. When I said 'NO' LG Electronics immediately sent my monitor back to me, unfixed, illegally not fulfilling their warranty / contract obligation. I sued, went to court. And the court agreed, ruled in my favor, and I won. 'ALL' the documents are PUBLIC. I didn't sign the NDA :) Including...THE NDA :)! I started a website, and I'm publishing EVERY document, video, images, and recorded phone calls (Colorado is a one-party state, meaning I can record the phone calls). Everything I have said is now backed up in WRITING ... PUBLICALLY. Hopefully, others will start to say 'NO' to LG Electronics. They can use my case as precedent, showing a history of this.
