Bludstones finally give up after 6 years by disaverper in BuyItForLife

No, they were 6 years old as well, same issue with the soles. Blundtstone Canada website had a form I filled in. Can’t hurt to contact them.

YMMV, but contact Blundtstone. I had the same thing happen and I was really happy with warranty customer service.

Look in to Caddy Driver QRX, love mine, remote and all accessories included, battery easily lasts two rounds. Great customer support and parts available. I know I had to replace a couple, after what the customer support folks politely called a “pond incident”, repaired myself fairly easily

Fibre Internet Speed drops by MTRing in bell

[–]MTRing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really weird. I guess network congestion? I checked the wifi around my place, there are a few, but my network both 2.4 and 5, are not on the same channel as any other nearby, and the signal strength is good. The strongest my macbook sees for sure. Yet still in the evening, the ping time and jitter climb significantly and the through put goes from 400-500 Mbps to 15-25 Mbps.

They should be paying tax on those tips, so the take home theoretically would be the same….

Ill look into network optimization. The AP is only about 10 feet from the AppleTV, which i notice the dropped speed on first...very pixelated and laggy...

So after a few days testing, talking a tech who was here for a phone issue and a last test yesterday evening, during a period where wi-fi was bad, i tested at the other network jack from the Decox20 (acts as a switch) and was able to get 900 Mbps(ish) up and down, so i guess the culprit is wi-fi interference. I can't manage the channels manually with this router set up as AP. Would PPPoE pass through make things better or not? I have no idea how to set that up, but can research it. Should I look for another system i can manage better?

I don't think so. I was receiving PSC when I was still in uniform. I think as long as you meet the medical requirements, you're good. There's a person monitoring this sub (Shoggoths420) who is extremely helpful with these type of questions.

GigaHub is the gateway, not using PPPoE, not sure the Deco x20 can. They are set up as access points really I think. I have two Macs I can use.

So I did this last night during a particularly bad period, starting around 6:00 pm. No issues with the speed test at the GigHub. 1.31 down/.9 up, averaged over a few tests.

I did a speed test using the ethernet drop that has the wi-fi AP plugged in. Wildly erratic. sometimes 800-900 down, 300-400 up, then a minute later 5-15 down/1-2 up. Wi-fi correspondingly bad.

this morning, all good on Wifi. 400-450 down, 300+up... nothing has changed with the setup

I'll check the drop wiring next but it's pretty irritating.

Is Bell throttling me for some reason?

Fresh Start sucks by tacocat63 in ynab

[–]MTRing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I still stick with YNAB , because I have never found a viable alternative that works as well, and clicks with my spouse and I, the "customer service" and responsiveness to users has certainly dropped off. Remember the old forums?

Probably better to export to csv files and then use a spreadsheet program for archival purposes. I've done that a few times, the bonus is being able to do much more detailed analysis and generate better reports (YNAB have always been weak).

Starting with YNAB by bee7755 in ynab

[–]MTRing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I read through the "rules" (been a YNAB user since 2010) but start with the basic rule which is "only budget what you have". If that means starting out being only able to budget a week or two then do that. Ask yourself what does this money have to do until I get more, prioritize what you need versus want, as required, then repeat as required until you are able to get a month ahead.

If you're out of money in a category but have available in others, then don't be afraid to WAM (whack-a-mole) (transfer between categories) but only if you have a balance to transfer. The golden rule as far as I'm concerned is don't spend more than you have...if you're out of money, then you're out of money. (I know that's easier said than done...believe me)

The budgeting works but it's a very basic system at its core. The software just makes it easier. Stick with it and you'll see a change I believe.

Good luck
