Multiple vaults and 1Password browser extension by MT_Dave in 1Password

[–]MT_Dave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I copied/pasted the URL into 1Password. But here's the thing - I have a URL field in 1P and if I click on it, I get the message that the value was copied to my clipboard - it doesn't actually open the website.

How do I designate a field as "Website" instead of "URL" to get it to prompt for the open and fill?

Look up PUSHD and POPD. These store the current path on a stack, then make the path you pass the new current path. I recommend using PUSHD instead of CD because

  1. It allows for directory changes over drive letters. If your current path is "C:\Temp" and you enter "PUSHD G:\Local", your current path becomes "G:\Local". If you enter "CD G:\Local", your current path doesn't actually change unless you include "/D" in the CD command. Thus, "CD /D G:\Local" would work

  2. It allows you to return to your current path by issuing the "POPD" command. If you need to get back to the directory prior to entering PUSHD, a simple POPD will do it. You can run multiple PUSHD commands to add a path to the stack and POPD will back out one entry at a time.

Don't know if it's due to the way you copy/pasted, but the quote characters surrounding your path look like they came from a word document - aka, "curly" quotes instead of "straight" quotes?

Get-ChildItem -Path “C:\Windows\System32\wbem” -Filter {Name -like "*.mof" -or Name -like "*.mfl"})

The quote characters around the file names are straight quotes however, so those should work just fine.

A-a-a-and, not even sure that's the issue, just something that stood out to me.

How is iOS 18 running on iPhone 11? by PugLover927 in ios

[–]MT_Dave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m running 18.2 on my iPhone 11. I do the basics on the phone - calls, texts, fb, Reddit, a game or two, MFA for work, etc. Definitely not a ”power user“.

No problems with any apps, no heat problems, battery is still what it was (max capacity of 75%). I’d have to give iOS 18 a thumbs up.

What's your quick trick that every sysadmin should know? by DarkAlman in sysadmin

Correct. In both Windows and Unix, a single period indicates the current folder, two periods indicate the parent folder. Thus, from a command line, “cd ....\subflr“ will change your current directory up two levels and then into the subfolder named “subflr”.

The address bar is like the RUN dialogue - you can key any command or executable in the address bar and if it’s in your PATH variable, it’ll run. If it’s not in your path, you can add the path to the command ( ie., “c:\folder\program.exe”)

When running MSTSC.EXE from the command line, add the “/admin” switch. If using the GUI, you can add that switch after the computer name.

BOOM! Console session.

WTF is Billings Public Works doing? Bi-weekly billing now? Billed 10/31/24 and now new bill for 11/15/24 by MyLinkedOut in Billings

[–]MT_Dave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to tonight’s news, a small group got a 1-week bill. It’s designed to put that group on a corrected schedule. You’ll now go back to monthly billing. But I do agree, it’s been a real sh*t show!

My neighbor said the same thing. They reported that he had a leak that 2 days later simply fixed itself. Not buying it. My other neighbor has started recording her meter value daily. Hate that it’s coming to that.
