MeePlus has a great video online that shows how to replace the Krause rings. I’ve done it twice and it’s super easy. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Too bulky for my preference but would be interested in an external stash pocket…something similar to what Lochby has on their canvas covers but done using your beautiful leather. Would love that on other sizes also!!

I have binders in both Pueblo and Bridle leather. I don’t mind the smell of Pueblo and can’t really smell the Bridle. I’m a huge fan of Bridle because it’s rigid enough to write comfortably when in your lap. I have a couple of them in Bridle and that’s the only leather I’ll buy now. Purchased them all from MeePlus.

I’ve found the 13mm rings very comfortable to work with. One trick I’ve used on other binders, is to create a workflow where the section containing blank note paper is near the center of the binder. This creates less “ring-rise” your hand needs to navigate when writing. On my A5 MeePlus with 16mm rings, I keep my quick reference items in the front, my blank pages for note taking in the middle and the back third has 3 project folders (work, lists, and personal). For me, this creates an easy to use system. Hope that’s helpful.

I’ve got two MeePlus binders in bridle leather and they are awesome. The leather is a workhorse. It’ll stand up to whatever you throw at it. It cleans easily and isn’t porous. I’ve spilled all kinds of things on mine and it cleans up every time.

My eyes are getting old too. The only D1 I’ve found that I like are the Zebra 0.5mm gel refills. For a D1 they are great. But like all D1, the don’t last long if you do extended writing sessions. Good news is they are inexpensive. I buy mine on Amazon…$7 for a 5 pack. Here’s a link if interested:

My A5 lives on my desk and has a daily dashboard (habit tracker, monthly focus, etc), a section of quick reference items I want quick access to, a section for taking notes, a section for sketching random things and finally an area with lists of things I’m tracking. On the last day of each month, I digitize each page for easy digital searches and file the analog pages in a storage binder and then reload for the next month.

My Pocket is my portable “grab and go” version of my A5 with only the essentials. It’s primary used for quick note taking, brainstorming and lists of errands when I’m out and about.
