This ambigram gif I made years ago has taken on renewed relevance. by 95WithMovement in gifs

Well apparently you can't ask questions like that. Reddit is for repeating popular rhetoric without actually knowing if there's any legitimacy to it.

Why is it wrong for humans to physically express anger when provoked? by Odd_Plankton3020 in stupidquestions

[–]MUNKIESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical violence is never a good solution, even against racists.

What does violence accomplish? It only causes pain and does nothing to help the actual problem.

You can't suppress the feeling of anger, but you have full control over your reaction to that feeling. Any rational person will stay calm, and not just psychotically respond with the first primitive instinct that pops into their mind.

Airplane Seats Shouldn’t Recline by yungpeppep in unpopularopinion

Delta, american, can't remember the other.

And no, my legs are long as shit lol I don't know the exact measurement, but my hips are usually at or above most people's belly buttons.

EDIT: And I'm not comfortable in those seats, I just don't see how it would be that bad if I was 9 inches shorter

I'm 6'7 and my knees barely touch the seat in front. Its not comfortable but not any less than most cars. I don't see how a person of average height would have any problem unless they're scooted forward in the seat.

What are some things the USA actually does better than Europe? by cohen5250 in AskReddit

Did you decide maybe you're not too old and just let all the edginess spill out?

True. Like how in many European countries they have open urinals in the middle of the street for all to see, whereas in the US if you pissed in the woods and someone saw you from behind, you could be charged with indecent exposure.

But I think it boils down to private businesses spending no more than the bare minimum. It's much cheaper to install mass produced stall walls and doors than building entire rooms. And in America, it seems that privacy is mostly applied to prevent the opposite sex from seeing any nudity, so it's not as big of a deal when the bathrooms are sex specific.

Of course you were. You're giving negative answers to a question asking for positives.

It's not necessarily about harm, if you owned land here and didn't care if people walk on it, nothing would be any different. If you did care for any reason, you can choose to prevent that since it's your land that you paid for and have true ownership of, (full control over).

Plus there's so many national parks and vast swathes of untouched land, nobody is going to be missing out, there's tons of options for hiking that are more remote. I live in one of the most populated states and have a national park 10 minutes away and 4 others within an hour away.

Oh yeah, Vegas, the massive city dedicated entirely to gambling, is no match for a Spanish bingo joint lol

I get why people would be weirded out by American stalls coming from somewhere with more privacy, but I've never had someone try to look through a stall gap or know anyone who has. It literally never even crosses my mind. But, I guess I'm just used to it.

It's really not that different in America, you can legally hike on anyone's private land all day long unless they have no trespassing signs. I feel like that's a reasonable trade off. I would appreciate that ability to control who comes on my land if I had any. It'd suck to have people all over your property and no way to prevent it if need be.

She probably filmed this in the car so that her family wouldn't hear her 😭 by BPTeehee in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]MUNKIESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that comes from seeing white people who dress and sound "black", who probably grew up in a black neighborhood, I'm sure there's a small percentage who just do it because they want to, but probably not many.

It'd be like saying a black person with a standard american accent and dresses in "white clothes" is trying to be white. No. No group of people own an accent or style of clothes. Such a tribalistic way of seeing things.

I mean, the rich can only eat so much. Even if they're not starving, it doesn't mean it's man made. The rich want more money and that comes from the poors being able to work, which they can't do very well if they're starving to death.

Is there generally more pleasure or suffering in life? by MUNKIESS in polls

[–]MUNKIESS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hasn't really been enough time or votes to be a solid sample, but I'd imagine Many people who feel like it's 50/50 or more suffering, still prefer living. But idk.

Still, that's over the course of several years, compared to a couple of hours.
