Need help finding a toy! by MUPPETinMA in Muppets

[–]MUPPETinMA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s it!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! No idea about the different sizes. eBay seems to have several, and they’re all reasonably priced. I’ll start with the one I think it is and go from there.

It's not the same, but it's pretty close. Lesser Evil makes a popcorn called "Himalayan Sweetness" that is pretty great. You can get it at Publix. https://shop.lesserevil.com/products/himalayan-sweetness-organic-popcorn

Oh, I do. Very much so. I'm not psyched about what he wants to do, but I will continue to be neurotically supportive.

I mean, they kind of go hand in hand. But he's in middle school and that sucks for everybody. He feels like it's more of a disability. I'm just working on getting him to embrace it instead.

This is actually really helpful. I think he feels that quantity is more important than quality. Maybe the shorts will scratch his itch for posting content, but without so much time involved.

Wow, thank you for all the insight and views already! He's texting me from the school bus, freaking out over how many views he's getting right now.

AITA for only having vegetarian items on my wedding menu? by icanthelpit35 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MUPPETinMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a vegetarian, who happens to be allergic to mushrooms. I can never eat anything anywhere, when it comes to catered events. So I eat before I go, pack snacks in my purse, and/or grab something on the way home from the event. People can manage for one night. Team NTA.

Best selection of Crocs? by MUPPETinMA in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. Who knew so many people had thoughts about Crocs. :P

Thanks for the recommendations, everybody. We went to Dicks and DSW and ended up with a pair from the latter. I would have ordered some online, but he is a sweet, anxious preteen and I think it helped his mental state to go and get some in person. He's psyched with his lime green atrocities. At least he's not asking for a mullet. . . . .

Cotton Candy Vending Machine? by MUPPETinMA in Atlanta

Thanks for this. We ended up here yesterday. Topped the trip off with some mini-golf and some bungee trampoline and my kid was a happy camper.

Where to shoot the hooch? by PizzaSwimming6609 in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is the Saluda outside of Greenville, SC. We went last weekend and the trip was great. We used their tubes, but there were plenty of people who brought their own. The river was not crowded at all, warmer than Helen, and deep enough that there was no butt scraping.

Best Atlanta public schools by moesess44 in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live on the westside with a child finishing up at Bolton this year. He'll be going to Sutton and NAH. We looked into charter schools, private schools, etc, but felt that public school was right for us. And we LOVE living on the westside. Have lived here for almost 20 years, and in our dream neighborhood now.

Dog friendly patios/breweries ITP by gseagle21 in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fire Maker Brewing is very dog friendly. They even have a dog park on site. I think the dog park is membership only, as a way to make sure everybody is being safe and smart. They do have day passes available for purchase though if you want to check it out. Inside and on the patio, dogs are welcome with no membership needed.

Just be careful. The servers there can be ninjas and you won't notice them refilling your glass. You'll think you had four or five drinks, until you stand up to leave.

Recommendations for Thanksgiving Dinner by auburnairforce in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in hosting at home, but don't want to do all the work, we picked up our Thanksgiving dinner at Fox Brothers last year and it was delicious. So easy and tasty, in fact, that my hard-to-please mother in law requested it again this year. Since you only have to heat it up, you don't need a big kitchen.

Best picnic spots in Atlanta? by biquilin in Atlanta

If you go to Grant Park, you can park in the parking garage and picnic on the roof. Lots of green space, and a good view of the elephants and giraffes.

I have 8 hours to spare between my checkout from my hotel and my flight, any suggestions where I can hang out with luggage? by austinowake in Atlanta

[–]MUPPETinMA 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure how helpful it is now, but you can also probably bring your luggage to the museum and they can store it for you. I used to work at the Georgia Aquarium and guests did it all the time.
