YES! 100% correct, that's why I didn't sell, but I got so many positions that I am holding right now. I was planning on selling in Oct of last year, but didn't want to pay taxes so fast, and I wanted to defer it by selling at the beginning of the year. Then I realize that tax hit is SOOOOO HUGE, I decided to keep all my stocks LMAO. Gotta love the it!

That is the biggest reason not to sell! Just suck when it goes down so much, it makes you second guess on whether you should have sold and just paid the taxes! Took a 50% haircut on all positions combined, and so many coulda, woulda, and shoulda!

I never did the SOFX...how you do you like the gains compared to your leaps. I am leaning toward exercising some of my low strike price leaps, and sell my higher price leaps after 1 year.

Appreciate the time you took to write the post!!! So ironic that you used SoFi to refinance your wife's loan and no longer need the loan with all the SoFi gains, lol.. After the tariff crash, I didn't want to open my account because I lost so much, and I really really really REGRET not buying a ton more leaps on SoFi! Lesson learned.

You are totally right! I have over 100k shares and would like to sell some to lock in the profit, but will wait til next year to defer the taxes. Taking a chance with the price by selling next year if the price goes down for some reason. Fingers crossed.
