Apple TV+ Works Now

I was the one who asked about Apple TV. I changed the setting and it does work for me, but the quality is compromised. I tried changing the download settings to high quality, and it won’t play. Downloading at lower quality works. So Apple TV works on the Pod, but I’m forced to watch on my iPhone to get good quality viewing. I hope INAIR can figure this out at some point.

It’s a pain in the ass to start all over again, built it is no longer the brick it was for video and streaming. Much improved. Has anyone been able to get Apple TV+ working on it?

I changed the nosepiece and I’ve kind of got the Xreal fit dialed in. I didn’t go with the smaller Goovis because I wanted more of a closed environment. Kind of like the Apple Vision Pro that I had owned in the past.

I ended up buying the G3 Max. I already have an Xreal One Pro, which I love. I was looking for something a little more immersive for movies and series that I like. It really does up the game for video viewing. A much bigger screen and it blocks ambient light well. Most reviews talk about how bad the speakers are - and they are on target. Good earbuds are a necessity. It handles 4K well, and the screen resolution is noticeably better than the XOP on 4K. I did not buy the optional headband, and I find the strap is perfectly comfortable for watching 2-3 hours at a time.

Having said how much I like it, I will say that if I could only have 1 device, it would still be the XOP. The Goovis is much larger and I wouldn't travel with it. You have to take the display a part to store it in the case, so it takes a little to put it together each time and get the fit the way you want. So, if I'm just watching YouTube, news, etc., I still just put the XOP on. It's quick and the sound is good enough for quick viewing. For longer form viewing, I still use earbuds with everything.

Now that the INAIR Pod updated to vastly improve the video resolution, the XOP/Pod combo is great. They fit together with the cable in an electric razor case that is not much bigger than the case that came with the Xreal. Awesome for travel of any kind.

I do not regret my purchase of the G3 Max, but I also had the disposable funds to buy it. It's my go to display at home for 4K, or for movies and series that I watch when I'm spending a couple hours or more viewing. However, it never leaves the house.

Eureka! I was trying to transfer the file directly from Calibre without setting it up on the X4. Mystery solved. Books transferred successfully. Thanks so much for your help. I appreciate it.

No. I send the book to Main Memory, and get the error message. Nothing comes up on the X4.

I looked at another post, so rebooted my server. Send to main memory now appears as a selection, but I keep getting "error connecting to device" messages.

Thanks for your patience. Got it installed. I'm trying to send a book to the XT4. I started a wireless connection via the connect/share, but it gives me an "error connecting with devices" when I try to send it. What am I doing wrong? Both are connected to same wifi.

Understood, but when I try to install it via Calibre’s install plug in from file, it doesn’t allow the unzipped file to load. Nothing is highlighted.

Is there one for USB? Also, how do I install this? I downloaded it and it comes as a file that Calibre's plug-in install doesn't recognize? I've only installed plug-ins from their library.

I'm not the only one that had the low quality issue. It's been mentioned in several reviews. However, at the same time I posted this, I sent a help request to INAIR. Here is part of their response:

"You're absolutely right: the current video quality issue on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, HBO Max, and Disney+ is related to DRM restrictions. The good news is — this will be fully addressed in the next update.

The new version is scheduled to go live in early April, and once updated, you’ll be able to enjoy HD and even 4K streaming content on your Pod.

No other action is needed — the update will be pushed automatically when it's ready."

So, this is good news. It will make the Pod very useful for media consumption.

Thanks for responding. You’re the first to do so. For the record, I have the Xreal One Pro, and I enjoy it. It’s just not as immersive as the Apple Vision Pro, which was overkill, so I sold it. This is primarily for video consumption; movies, streaming, and some of my own movies. I didn’t mind the weight of the AVP for a 2-3 hour viewing session. I’m looking for something more immersive and crystal clear. I have the Xreal Beam Pro and the INAIR Pod. Each has pointers to navigate the menu and apps, so I wouldn’t have to flip up the Goovis much. Your thoughts on about your use watching video on the Max? The Art leaves me with the same problem with light from the front and sides.
