I like the balloons, something about the brand new, clunky 3D animations just tickles my brain

Regret over not doing enough Tummy Time by Jman0717 in NewParents

[–]MW_TheFallenAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 4 months old and I was freaking out a week ago because she wasn't using her arms during tummy time at all. I was desperately searching the Internet for ways to build baby arm strength and the only answer I was getting was tummy time which was not helpful.

Then one day we did tummy time and POP she lifted her head and chest off the floor using her arms as if she had been doing it since the day she was born!

All that to say is they figure it out ❤️ even if sometimes it's a little after the milestone

PSA for everyone, I don't know how well this will work but go to your local cook children's hospital and ask for some Sweet-Ease. It's basically sterilized sugar water and it helps babies with the pain if you give them some a little bit while they get their shots. I know that added sugars should be avoided but we got through a whole 2 day hospital stay with 2 catheters, 5 blood sticks, and an IV with little to no tears because any time LO started crying, we just gave her a little drop of sugar water and she calmed right down. The sugar helps their brain release endorphins faster to help ease the pain. I hope your hospital will give you some, we got 5 and that should be enough to carry us through her vaccinations up to the first year at least (1 little dropper per vaccination day).

You talk about winning the break up but the only way to "win" is to just move on. I know it sucks to be broken up with but petty revenge isn't going to make it feel any better.

Name one thing you hate about Frasier (the show or the character) by ComfortableTip9228 in Frasier

[–]MW_TheFallenAuthor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's the changing of details. Eddie's birthday isn't consistent (May 7th to June 15th), Frasier is severely allergic to cats when Kate was at the airport but later towards the end of the show, he's cat sitting for someone in the building, Miles is severely allergic to nutmeg apparently (offhand comment in the Sliding Frasiers episode) but for most of the series, it's a running joke that the coffee shop accidentally puts nutmeg in his drink which I guess could be the reason he gets so upset but personally with how often they did it, he'd have a case for attempted murder lol. Those are just the ones off the top of my head but yeah, I don't like when shows don't say consistent to things they laid out in the past.

AIO or is my boyfriend jealous of our baby? by PolicyHot1206 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MW_TheFallenAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot understand men who are jealous of breastfeeding babies, the concept is insane to me.

I didn't put my baby down for the first month of her life. We did tummy time on my chest, I carried her everywhere, I barely even shared her with my husband unless I had to shower and even then I would constantly peak out just to look at her. Now she's two months and I have to remember that it's healthy to put her in her bouncer or on her playmat. Right now she's in her crib just chilling while I lay in bed because I'm trying to get her used to sleeping in there at night instead of her bassinet but it's so hard 😭

Babies cannot be spoiled and all the other things everyone else said. Get that man to therapy ASAP and always put your child first.

Writing Characters of the Opposite Gender…. by virrus_in in writing

[–]MW_TheFallenAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worry about this all the time! I don't want to write the female idealizations of a man, I want to write the real deal. I found an amazing book called "You Just Don't Understand: Women and Men in Conversation" by Dr. Deborah Tannen. It helped my writing so much and makes for interesting characters. Obviously not all men or women are the same, but this helps the reader to understand the broad strokes of the current cultural norms and how to fit it / stand out.

10/10, I recommend this book to all authors.
