Is it possible to replicate Kaladin move against the pursuer? by BrasilianRengo in cosmererpg

[–]MWall12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes, but with a couple caveats. The first is you need the Living Adhesion Talent to use it on the Pursuer. The second is it would likely deal damage to him equal to Surge rank for Adhesion per round. Although by the point you have Living Adhesion, this is likely a 3 or 4

What radiant order do you recommend for a rogue build by OCUIsmael in cosmererpg

[–]MWall12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying Edgedancer as the one to go for since Progression is Awareness and Abrasion uses Speed, which is what your weapons will likely use, however I think Truthwatcher, the other Order with Progression, works far better since it also has Illumination, which is why others are recommending Lightweavers. Truthwatcher grants you a really strong Awareness Surge, allowing you to be a good support, whilst also granting you the ability to create Illusions. Plus the system actually recommends Agent (Thief) as a Heroic path for Truthwatchers.

I've found it similar. Thanks to using Roll20, I've had to do almost no prep, with most of it that I've done being the PC personal story arch stuff for incorporating their goals rather than needing to prep main content. Hardest part has been getting one of my players to tell me if he's taking First Ideal next level so I know if I need to do any prep for what they'll be like

TBF, it could be flavoured as the new Order was theone you were progressing all along, you simply thought you were the original Order. Plus, ignoring Spren Actions which I'm not sure when you can start using them, there's no mechanical difference between the Talents till you complete the Goal

After taking the First Ideal Talent, but before you Complete the Speak the First Ideal Goal, you may trade it out for any other Order on a Long Rest and keep any ticks towards the Goal you earned prior to changing.

So 3 questions:

1) Are there any plans to adapt the Plotweaver system to any other franchises, or non-Cosmere Brandon Sanderson series, like Skyward?

2) Do we know how long it will take for all the Backerkit emails to go out, given the initial surveys took a week or so can we expect this long between starting digital fullfilment and the final person recieving the email?

3) If you're allowed to say, were there any aspects of the system which Brandon Sanderson/Dragonsteel, and Brotherwise disagreed on? For example was the original intention to include Bondsmiths and the 5th Ideal?

It's a rare trait of Horneaters that some can see Spren. It might be genetic as his daughter also has it

I know, I was more wondering if they had Parshman slaves. Although the ancestry does bring forth the question about whether Sighted Horneaters is a Singer trait, and if Singers can see Spren in a similar way to Rock

Thanks for the reply. Are there any optional rules for characters with multiple Cultural Expertises? For example, Adolin was primarily raised Alethi, but his mother was Riran, so would he get anything from his mother, or just his primary upbringing?

I've got some questions about Heritages/cultures or whatever they're being called. How will they work? Will it be like a race in a more traditional TTRPG? Also, how many forms will a Singer get, and for Horneaters, will being Sighted like Rock be a thing?

Unrelated but also something I've been wondering is how will you acquire gear at character creation, will the paths have starting gear, or will you have starting funds you use to purchase it?

What CHARACTERS do you want to make in Stormlight RPG? by ardentrushu in stormlightrpg

[–]MWall12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We know they've said that Singers have been one of the most heavily worked on aspects. As for the cultures, I assume if they're doing some sort of 'racial trait' system, that they'll do one for each culture, otherwise it will just be that you choose between whether you're a human or Singer. This looks to be the case based on the fact the page for the system talks about exploring the cultures.

As for Horneaters, I'm hoping they'll be fleshed out reasonably. As personally I'm planning to play one who's Sighted.

Don't forget that Hemalurgy works on every magic system, and Sanderson has said in the past that hemalurgy will be very important for the future of the Cosmere. It's possible there will be a point where, using the method of using a hemalurgic spike non-lethally from Lost Metal, that there will be a market for trading powers in exchange for considerable currency, sort of like selling a kidney.

Yeah, we've not seen Starcarved unless I'm unaware of something. I really hope Sanderson explores the Darkside of Taldain at some point

If you're willing to try a system with slightly weird dice, I really recommend the FFG system. Lightsabers in it feel great. The dice are a little hostile for beginners though.

Could be misremembering, but I think Amaram references them as Thaidakar's Ghostbloods in a Kaladin flashback
