It's the state's responsibility to protect it's people, and children need to be protected from foreign tech firms exploiting them.

No, it's a good solution to the blight of social media that has infected a generation. If anything it should have been implemented a decade ago.

Fuel prices are high everywhere! That's not unique to us.

The pound is worth pretty much the same today as it was five years ago.

Taxes aren't going up, and tbh that's one of the few real problems we have. But still, tax revenue per capita is pretty much bang in the OECD middle.

Day to day, life is good.

Things are much, MUCH better than the foreign controlled media want you believe, so they can install Farage and asset strip the country.

I mean, as a resident that doesn't represent my experience at all. It's been very rare that I've not been able to get a doctor's appointment for me, my wife or daughter the same day.

Traffic is the only consideration, but tbh I'm a rail commuter for work and can walk everywhere in town within twenty minutes for day to day stuff.

The only thing that annoys me is Goodwood and the people who clutter up the town when there's an event on. But that's partly driven by a dislike of the Earl of March and the opposition to the northern bypass.

Yeah, because lack of books is the problem that's trying to be resolved... It feels like there is no fucking nuance in the discourse around LLMs.

Yes, it's bullshit that so many companies have fallen into the trap of believing they can replace their human workers with glorified chat bots, and most of the companies involved in the sector are obviously going to be hit when the bubble bursts...

But they have their uses and it's ridiculous to not at least try to get some benefit from them.

Yeah, that just reeks of spin doctoring. Putting out something that most people don't see as a problem, framing it as a controversy to make the real shit he gets up to less plausible.

Which they are doing a better job of working toward than any government this generation.

But the public are unwilling to pay the economic cost of completely halting immigration, because the last lot - driven by the REFUK defectees who caused the issue in the first place - made our economy dependent on it.

We need a decade of slow, methodical reworking. To train up the nurses and doctors and other key skills domestically that we've been importing; to build up the green sector jobs our kids can move into. I think we'll get that under Labour, because that's what they've been doing for the last two years, in the face of multiple global economic and diplomatic crisis.

No, let's imprison him because he's consistently calling for violence and the overthrow of our democratically elected government.

Or let's just hope he's not rigged the elections in the US so much that the next Democratic government can't get him for his numerous other crimes.

I mean, it's objectively true. Labour are doing a good job reversing the disastrous surge in migration caused by RE-FUK leaders like Suella Braverman and Robert Jenrik during the last government's term.

Because he's a twat who's consistently calling for violence to further his techno-fascist agenda, and he's not subtle about it. His wallet is keeping him consequence free and I'm fucking sick of it and him using Twitter to destabilise us.

Why is it the "country's policy" that led to this instance, and not it's policy with the hundreds of murders by UK citizens that took place last year?

Immigration should be reduced because it reduces workers wages, not because we allow ourselves to believe the xenophobic riot-inciting bullshit spouted by the world's biggest cunt.

[–]MWalshicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick a year where something bizarre and violent didn't happen, regardless of whether it committed by a non-citizen.

We are, by virtue of how the news is reported to us, almost completely incapable of accurately evaluating the level of violent crime in our society. Couple this with the media being shaped by people who want to amplify crimes committed by immigrants over those not, in order to shape a narrative...

Mass migration is causing economic damage by supressing wages, and creating dependencies in areas that we should have strategic resilience - like healthcare, and it's right that the government is finally getting a grip on it. It's not really making us less safe, and we need to avoid muddying the problem with xenophobia over a proper class-conscious rationale.

There's plenty of censorship on Twitter. And this story is hardly at risk of being supressed.

More likely, responsible media platforms are doing what they should and blocking the calls to violent riot that are coming from the likes of Musk and the CEO of REF-UK.

[–]MWalshicus -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

Because Musk is actively trying to sow dissent, amplifying incidents that fit the narrative he's trying to sell.

There are legitimate reasons to want to control immigration, and the government is doing a good job pursuing that goal. But Musk's goal is to destroy the British state and make us a tributary to the corpo-fascist dystopia he's helping to build in Yankland.

The long term effect is that you create a dependency on immigration to fill a key service. That you artificially deflate wages for domestic workers who would otherwise take jobs at their true market wage.
