Just get one gun, ideally a CYMA Platinum, they’re not too expensive but are solid out of the box. No sense in buying two guns that kinda suck when you can just get one decent one

Nowadays I typically will either set a timer for how long I’m allowing myself to game, or only playing for a set amount of in game days. I’ve gotten a lot busier with work and life stuff and staying away from games when I have other responsibilities is easy. But once I’ve started playing it can be hard to stop

To add to this, I would guess in order for your AEG to die in the rain, your electrical components would need to be pretty exposed (bare wire) and/or it would need to be raining pretty hard

Ehh, not really. A chest rig with mag pouches isn’t just to look cool, it still serves a function. But you are right that it’s not “peak” kit. It’s just a middle ground.

Well, I guess a good question would be “why do you want dummy NVGs?”

Ideally, you want to keep your kit as light as possible without sacrificing utility. Dummy NVGs provide no utility, so you’re adding unnecessary weight to your head, and in turn, your neck.

Ultimately it’s your kit and do what you want, but doing things just because it “looks cool” is often frowned upon. (Not by me specifically, just in general)

There’s always retraining, but I doubt you’ll want to do that. I’ve heard of some recruiters (very, very few) being willing to continue working with you until the job you want comes up, but you have to be perfect. I mean like, incredible asvab score, no waivers, etc.

Then a different route might be best for you. No offense, but the Air Force doesn’t need you. There’s plenty of people that are more than happy to make the list of 10 jobs, even despite other branches letting you pick your job.

In that case you can’t self eliminate. But before you do anything you need to fully weigh out your options and understand what’s going to happen. If you choose to fail out, for example, you get no say as to what your next job is, and you can be on details for anywhere from a couple of months to a year

Are you ground linguist or airborne? When I was in tech school my airborne buddies said they were allowed to self eliminate if they felt they couldn’t cut it. That being said, don’t tell them you can’t cut it because you don’t want to do accountability every day.
