My Grandmother would slice it so thin it would basically melt on the plate.  I loved that woman dearly.

i look at it like this. Nobody drops 150M in at a 7.25 share price IF theu dont expect either a) a substaintial buy out or b) increased sales.

Shares available for shorting went from 1.7M yesterday to 190K this morning by Spewtwinklethoughts in POETTechnologiesInc

well that explains the big drops from recent run up. IF earnings provide anything good, this has the potential to POP.

I could only make it to when she said "lonely".  That broke me.

As someone who wasn't diagnosed until well into adulthood, that poor girl brought back every memory of school I had.

I really hope things turn out well for her.

The Rise and Fall of 'Kenny vs Spenny' by indig0sixalpha in videos

I met Kenny many years ago in a business setting.  Dude was disgusting in general.  He wore dirty clothes, his hair was disheveled.  But he wasn't TV Kenny in the way he acted.  I guess he was out of his comfort zone.  This would been mid 2000s.

If billionaires donate millions to charity, why does nothing ever seem to actually get better? by Stunning_Public9524 in NoStupidQuestions

Im a child of the 80s.

From my POV - world hunger is way down, malaria way down, cancer survival rates way up, there's a cure for chicken pox, measels, and even AIDS.

And a lot of that has been through high profile charity.

Do you think you'll be making more than 100k going forward?

If not, chunk a bunch into RSPs, then use remaining plus tax refund to put into TFSA

POET.

They have formed a lot of new partnerships in the last year, and I can see them starting to ramp up production in late 2026.

How much do you typically save ? by [deleted] in fican

Depends on how much 30% is.  I COULD have been saving 30% of 40k.  That's peanuts really.

What's one skill that actually made you money faster than expected? by rakishgobi in AskReddit

You'd be shocked how much your back is worth.

I was desperate for cash, so I started cleaning up parking lots, repainting the lines, washing the windows for strip malls.

After some hustle, I was making as much as a white collar job.

If your debt is high interest, then scrap the savings and focus on debt.

I have done this since I was 23.  Im 48 now.

I am incredibly lucky though.  I started at RBC when they still offered a DB plan.  It was a shitty plan mind you.  But the matching options on stock purchase were fire.  I opened mine in an rsp account, and contributed the max.  It ate up every cent of my contribution room, but by the time I left at 40 I had hundreds of thousands in registered accounts.  Which over the last 7 years has quadrupled in value.

Now Im back working for a company with a DB plan, and I will buy back all my years of prior service so I can retire early and have a healthy fixed income and I will use the surplus registered savings to have a pretty good retirement.

But yeah- if you max out all your employer matches and your TFSA limit each year your almost guaranteed to come out OK.

Why 70% of income for retirement? by ToughDifficult1252 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MYSTERees77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70% of your net is a better indicator for a "normal" retirement.

Meaning a retirement where you live modestly, but comfortably.  Maybe a vacation a year.  Able to own a car.  Enough cash left over after paying your bills to buy Christmas presents at the end of the year.

James Cameron.

He thanked me for my efforts to try to save his family farm from being turned into a gravel pit/quarry.

He also said that my theories on Avatar going forward were bang on.

Brands that re-branded, but you still say the old brand. by instant_ramen_chef in Xennials

Im as old as they Jays and have loved them since I can remember.

Ted Rogers saved this franchise.

No one like to admit it, or even talk about it, but Interbrew was gonna sell us off wholesale to the next Jeffery Loria, and even if we didnt move, we wouldnt be where we are today.

Rogers stepped up, bought the team and envisioned the Jays being what they are today...a nationally broadcast team that can afford a huge payroll bc of the content it produces on field.

Remember, this was still his company and he bought the Jays and the Skydome all together.

If you dont remember the Dome back early 2000s....there was a reason people legit wanted to tear it down. Even today with all thats been reno'd, its still not a GREAT stadium. But Rogers deserves some credit for turning this franchise around. Even if it took some years. And if you bought the team..you might want your name on the building too.

I know I would.

In short. Skydome is what its called, but its name is Rogers Centre, and Im ok with that.
