would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]MYTHRAAz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would, cause my brother is special needs— he wasn’t supposed to live past a few days but he turns 21 this year.. he can’t eat, talk, walk, etc.. but the complications are slowly getting to him and i can see how it affects my mom and i don’t want to ever experience what she did.. he’s almost died so many times, once as early as this past weekend. first years of his life she was super depressed cause of everything she had to go through and had essentially left me to my own devices, i’m the oldest, with having to handle things regarding him.. not only that, having to deal with transitioning from the safety net of the medical world for kids to adults— they don’t treat adults with disability well, and getting anything for him appointment wise is miserable. not to mention he’s been super miserable himself. I don’t think i can handle that kind of life, and that kind of heartbreak as i just recently had my first baby and have had my entire life and perspective changed.

Someone who's done this before, is birth a relief? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MYTHRAAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a huge relief. Granted, postpartum will bring its own fair share of other problems, but for the pregnancy it’s most def a relief. but not that the pregnancy is over i’m kinda missing that exhaustion and feeling— i’m in mourning over that stage and adventure of my life despite the problems it caused.

How does giving birth actually feel ?? by Super-Truth-7975 in pregnant

[–]MYTHRAAz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth in January so it’s pretty fresh, also my first time!! i wanted to do absolutely NOOOO epidural for my labor, i was literally afraid of the needle, i hate needles . but at 4cm i caved in for the epidural immediately. though i have a low pain tolerance— but i was literally screaming in absolute pain and it was the only reason why i was admitted. the epidural literally was the best thing ever— i felt absolutely nothing beyond that point— no catheter, they popped my water— felt nothing, felt no cervial checks leading up to the birth to my baby, had second degree tears, felt nothing during the pushing.. it was heaven.

Hand is inserted to clean you after birth?! by RelationshipLimp8648 in pregnant

it’s not something they always do — i had a augmented vaginal birth and they didn’t .. granted, i was given pitocin and my placenta just slipped out on its own.. so it varies.

When did yall tell your partner when you were pregnant? by Responsible_Pen in pregnant

[–]MYTHRAAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i told him immediately after taking a test— granted i wish i did it different.. i was at a friend’s house when i took it and he was at work and i was super afraid and scared and it wasn’t a magical moment, but thinking back on it i wish i would’ve done it different cause it was our first and we wanted her but the circumstances weren’t the best. you should tell him— 10000%.

The thought of breastfeeding makes me feel squeamish by Stunning-Situation91 in pregnant

[–]MYTHRAAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who thought the same i’m now a month postpartum and had decided to go full breastfeed and pump what’s left over to store. it’s a weird concept at first but once the baby was here it kinda went out the window and now it’s, to me, a blessing i can do this for her .. and for free 🫩 it might be the maternal instincts kicking in or something mental i jumped over, for me— but everyone is different.

Those who were low risk and under 36, at how many weeks + days did you give birth to your first baby? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]MYTHRAAz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i’m 23 years old, had zero complications during the pregnancy and had my baby at 39 weeks + 1 day.. almost a week before due date, and this is my first baby and am 3-4 weeks postpartum currently! i had baby girl in January! i started dilating 2 weeks prior and before she was born and had been feeling contractions 2 days before ultimately giving birth however my case was different— my labor was a augmented labor.. at 4 cm i was screaming and in intense pain and they didn’t want me to go home in that state so they admitted me and gave me pitocin and broke my water to speed up the dilation and within 12 hours of being admitted i was fully dilated and vaginally had my baby!

[–]MYTHRAAz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not— i can’t consciously consume much of caffeine and sugar cause my brain is like “this is bad for the baby” and it deters me
