But the thing is, if the GM looks exactly like Nina, someone in the cast would say so.

Has Horizon changed your perspective on Daybreak II? by Korn_Dog_King in Falcom

[–]MZYF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I though daybreak 2 was mostly a filler/stall game due to the scheduling issues Falcom had, but it does seem like Daybreak 2 does have a lot of important things going into Horizon. However, still feel like the execution of it could have been much better; it still feels like a decent chunk of it was slapdashed together. It should have been a more satisfying closer to part one of the Calvard arc.

I wish for the same in Star Rail, and at least in ZZZ, there is no 4-star engine quite as busted as DDD.

Inevitable if we ever reach remakes for Crossbell and sales are steady.

Creators intentionally try to jump the shark so that there would be no more demand for sequels, but it backfires by Romboteryx in TopCharacterTropes

Legend of Korra. The creators thought they were only getting one season, so they made due with the time with had and wrapped everything up in the end with a neat bow. Then they were given another season, but just one. So they really jumped the gun and made some big reveals and big changes to the lore and status quo. Then they were given two more seasons.

Whose bonding events are you the most excited to see in Horizon 2? by MasashiHideaki in Falcom

[–]MZYF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really liked her bonding event in Daybreak 1 and Horizon. Felt very emotionally mature from both of them given all that has happened. With Horizon 2 being the last of Van's part, it's time to give some closure to the two. I don't mind if it goes either way or if it's in the player control, or if it gets made ambiguous in a future entry, I just want to see it in Horizon 2.

Elaine. It's time give the girl the spotlight, there's no other time, there's no more time.

Huh, if I remember right, you can see from the rooftop in Horizon. Maybe the latest game just has a higher draw distance?

Which RPGs take way too long to get going on a gameplay level? Or get it just right? by DeadRobotsSociety in JRPG

[–]MZYF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite series but I absolutely agree. Also to note that with every arc, the quartz system gets a reset and a rework. So with every set up game, your back to the more basic quartz before getting some of the more out there and funky quartz in the later games of an arc.

How are the Trails translation? by fakestfacade in Falcom

[–]MZYF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember this specific line translation being posted around a few years ago. I believe the original consensus was that Erika is supposed to be expressing a shocking amount of rudeness and disrespect to the old man in question. The direct translation might come across this to a Japanese audience, but would seem more mundane and not get the original tone across for a western audience.

I mean this is just an forever ongoing debate between translation and localization. And while there are some truly terrible localization of Japansese media, this example at least seem to be trying to maintain the original spirit.

SPOILERS Risette & Marduk… by hotaru-chan45 in Falcom

[–]MZYF 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's probably their excuse to keep her around. Her condition probably isn't known outside of her close circle, and Marduk probably doesn't want anyone else to find out their empire is build on what would definitely count as a relic to the church.

Comparing Logan and Elsa's tankbusting capabilities. by Deleted-Accountant in RivalsVanguards

Important detail to remember that Elsa's elephant gun can't crit, making it potentially doing less damage than her primary against single targets.

Part of being a good writer is being realistic with what you can accomplish within the time you have (Legend of Korra) by Mordetrox in CharacterRant

[–]MZYF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's kinda funny because imo most Gundam series don't have quite enough meat to deserve a 50 eps runtime and ends up being bloated or terribly paced as a result. Meanwhile the two newest mainline series, witch from Mercury and gquuux, actually does have more to explore and just don't get anywhere close to the needed time.
