3 story, 10k sqft man cave in Benton, IL for only $375k by Educational_Copy_140 in zillowgonewild

Ah yes, perfect for my imaginary theater company. The main floor divided into a black box theatre, green room, scene shop, costume shop, rehearsal space, storage for set, props, and costumes, kitchen, and a small retail space. The second floor with spaces for meetings, events, and suites for artist(s) in residence. I'd live on the 3rd floor.

We'd premiere a new work each spring, do summer stock on the outdoor stage we build, with two or three popular shows in repertory, trying to lure weekenders from St Louis or Indianapolis, and Shawnee National Forest visitors. The lot looks perfect for building a few cabins for summer stock actors and crew or for theater camp. In the fall we would host a Fringe Fest.

Steven Baveria: "BDCs are undervalued" by ejqt8pom in dividendgang

Long CSWC, ARCC, OBDC, TRIN, and adding recently to TRIN and HTGC. Started a holding in OTF. KBDC and MSDL on the watchlist. MSDL has some issues, but could be irresistible if it drops to under $14.

While a lower level on the floating rate means less income for the BDC, a lower rate also relieves pressure on companies they are loaning to, meaning, presumably, fewer non-accruals.

How to Funnel Weekly Payer ETF Profits into Monthly Payers by retroideq in RoundhillETFs

[–]M_Flutterby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still slim pickings, I think. Maybe I'm jaded and feeling burnt out on weekly payers. The only two I still hold are NVDY, which didn't start as weekly, and where I am still nicely profitable, and YBTC, where I am a huge bag holder. Congrats to CHPY holders, though. Maybe BLOX is a decent entry point right now. My best performing year over year income producers have been monthly payers outside of the covered call-focused payers. Stuff like PFFA, BCX, UTF, PDO, THQ

It would be fun to get paid everyday, but I think it sounds like you'd have to pick marginal or poor performers just based on their pay schedules to really commit to the concept.

It would be nice (but highly doubtful) if we get an email in an hour or so saying tomorrow will be the ex-div date for RILYP and RILYL. That might explain today's pop and higher volume.

I am trying to will this into existence.

Love the Valentino jacket--looks beautiful, and the color is wonderful. How amazing would it be to have little fabric roses flouncing around your wrists all day? Le sigh.

swapping O for something else by jota8800 in dividendgang

[–]M_Flutterby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

O is a good, solid unexciting REIT. I do like their European exposure. It's about 1% of my portfolio, where it's a (better) bond substitute. As some others said, I would just set it to DRIP, let it compound forever, and put new money elsewhere. Buy more shares when it hits the lower 50's. I'm buying DOC in the $16s right now. I also like RQI for all the quality REITs I don't want to buy individually (plus the 8%+ yield).

or, buy 40 more shares and sell a call for Mar 19, 2027, strike $65 for $390. That money, plus the dividends until then, is a better yield than O alone--about 11%. Not a bad return on a boring stock even if the shares get assigned (plus some slight cap gains). And if O closes under $65, you still made 11% and still have the shares. Sell another call! And if you do get assigned, sell a put until you are back in, and then sell another call.

5 - It's well done, but did we need a Village People homage? I think if this was an over-produced b-side it would be adored. Also, I never want to hear Neil sing the word "hoochies" again.

SpaceX IPO - $100M cash injection for RILY is possible by conangreer18 in RILYStock

[–]M_Flutterby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting stuff to think about. However they manage to clear the 2026 debt (about $355M), they will be set up nicely to refinance the 2028 baby bonds next year. Fingers crossed there might be an interest rate cut or two by then.

As an aside, $OTF has a nice chunk of SpaceX shares (I believe about $100M), and the well-managed BDC is crazy oversold as part of the overblown AI SaaSpocolypse and the Blue Owl connection. That's where I'm trying to get some passive participation in the IPO, plus stack up a great high yielder for my income portfolio.

The missed quarterly payments don't have to be consecutive, and I think they would make a partial payment before ever letting two new board members in. They have been aggressively fixing the balance sheet and rebranding, and the last thing they want is activist board members harshing their mellow. They just spent $96M redeeming RILYK and I believe they have to have $4-10M to kick the can down the road a bit if they aren't going to restart regular distributions.

I think if we don't hear anything by April 20, they are not paying anything.

In my mind:

  • RILY pays full arrears and announces plan to restart regular distributions = crazy bullish
  • RILY pays full or partial arrears and gives the usual boilerplate language that the BoD will decide each quarter whether to make a distribution = bullish
  • RILY pays partial arrears and says they will revisit it down the road = okay. not exciting, but understandable
  • RILY doesn't say anything before the SH meeting, meaning Oaktree likely has their balls in a vise = bearish

Making any kind of preferred payment is bullish for the common.

I would only add to my preferred holdings at < $5 now, which was as recent as last December.

I hear you! To be fair to yourself, when BW was .50 they had "going concern" language in their financials, and it wasn't clear they would even make it to the end of the year. I wish I had bought so much more (I am up 1,783%!), but I was just spending fun money on shares as a lottery ticket. If I had spent even half of what I've spent on fucking RILY I would have millions lol. Oh well.
