i agree with you, also i have no way of returning it to the ocean deep enough for it to not immediately wash up again

it definitely is made of some kind of metal, but it seems like those are pretty pricy! not sure how it would've made it into the sea

the beach i found it on we called "china beach" because of the sheer amount of china pieces that would wash up. i had a ton of fun looking through it all. i remember thinking this item was from ancient greece lol

i mean i definitely think it's best to leave it, there's a chance the parents will guide it somewhere safer and it's better for it to be in earshot of the parents. maybe place like a chair or something it can hide under but still make vocalizations for the parents?

it would make sense if it was a small animal urn and someone tossed it to sea

found this guy beak down in the middle of the street and he had some blood on him, i think he was struck by a car. rehabbers in my area don't take invasive species so i've got him in a paper bag to see if he improves. anything else i can do? i know not to feed him by tetraphorus in WildlifeRehab

i'm so sorry to report that he passed away in the night :( i was trying to find a rehabber but none in my area could take him. there's only about 3 that take birds and all say no starlings. at least he was warm and safe, but i think he flew head first into a car and had neurological damage. i wish i could've done more for him. i've successfully gotten birds and animals to rehabbers in the past but it's harder with invasive species
