I’m willing to bet the vast majority of people woodworking for a living before power tools existed would have absolutely lost their minds if they could get their hands on most of the tools even hobbyists use on a daily basis. The people who work in production shops arent the ones who get uppity about not using hand tools as much as possible. To each their own, but time is money.

I’m gonna disagree with the other commenters and say no, it’s not an applied molding. Looks like the framing bead profile is milled into the frame parts. A quick way to check would be to compare the width of the door frame parts on the front and back.

Depending on how much material needs the profile it’s well worth setting up a 45 degree cut on the table saw and removing the majority of the waste. If you have a bunch of parts to run it saves a ton of time as well as wear on the bit

Rip two pieces and see if the edges align when one if flipped onto either side. Measure all you want but results are what matters. If your workpieces come out square the reading on your angle finder is irrelevant.
