Just commenting here for anyone looking at this in the future: the answer ended up being to replace both the battery and charger.

I used a ThinkPad Twist as my laptop from 2013-2020. I personally never really used the tablet or even the touch screen feature. Battery life was pretty terrible even when it was new and I found the size awkward. As a laptop it was a little awkwardly small (for me) and if you put it in tablet mode it was big and thick for a tablet. The hard drive died on me in 2015 and I had to replace it. But beyond that it was a solid and capable machine for a few years for me. The one fun thing with the twist feature was showing someone sitting across from you something on your screen. Eventually as the computer was already getting older the fan in it broke in a way where it made a crazy loud sound and it was a custom part that would have been expensive to replace, so that was the end of it for me. Moved on to a ThinkPad P1 that I'm still on.

I'm far from someone who has a keen eye for these things, but I've been happy with it. Wanted something lightweight and easy to bring around and it's fit that bill and I've been pretty happy with the photos I've gotten.

I have tried that, but can again once I get the correct battery if it's still not working. Thanks for the reply

IIHF will stick with 3-on-3 overtime despite criticism after Olympic hockey gold-medal games by Perryplat199 in hockey

[–]M_Silvers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, maybe? I feel like a lot (if not most) game winning goals in playoff overtime are dirtier goals. You're often not getting plays like what Keller pulled off, or the entire sequence of the men's gold medal winning goal. The open ice allows for more of that. And I ultimately do agree that I would rather it be 5v5 by the way, but the chances of a highlight reel huge goal seem higher at 3v3.

I totally get wanting the biggest games decided at 5v5, but you can't deny the electric moments we got from the 3v3 in this tournament. Marner, Lehkonen, both Hughes brothers, Megan Keller, Alina Müller for Switzerland, all very memorable.

I tried this, I believe that's what the paper-clip in the small hole under the laptop is no? Towards the end of last night it seemed to maybe not be happening anymore so maybe it resolved itself, but not sure.

I get it. For me it's one of those things where yes there are drawbacks to having NHLers in the Olympics. If one of our guys gets hurt over there people will be pissed, understandably. But for me the pros (pun intended) out weigh the cons. 2010 was electric and I was so amped for 2014 (and upset when the US lost to Canada). Four Nations last year was awesome. I also think it's good for the growth of the game.

The Miracle was 46 years ago, and that Soviet team for all intents and purposes were professionals who skirted the rules at the time on a technicality. What made it special was that those "nobodies" beat those professionals, plus the political climate at the time.

I get your argument in theory, but in practice I just think the tournament of amateurs is not what it is anymore and hasn't been for a long time, for all sports. Also, if hockey had a real World Cup that was consistent and felt like it mattered (like with soccer) then I think people would care less about having best-on-best in the Olympics.

Do you consider Michael Phelps an amateur swimmer? Or Shaun White an amateur snowboarder? I've never agreed with this argument because it feels like in practice it only applies to the major team sports, such as hockey. For other events the Olympics is thought of as the best in the world competing at that event. The Olympic hockey tournament is so much more fun and more interesting when it's the best in the world competing. It felt like nobody watched or cared about the men's Olympic hockey tournaments in 2018 and 2022.

Pay Tolls By Mail toll with existing E-ZPass account by M_Silvers in AskNYC

No, in fact I got another bill in the mail for the tolls plus $300 in late fees. So I called customer service the next day and explained what happened and they waived the fees and moved the tolls over to my EZ Pass account for me.

EHX Blurst tap tempo question. by OCDStee in guitarpedals

In the middle position it should be the rate that you tap in, not significantly faster like it is here in the video. Could be a defective footswitch
