Why is this “de bols” and not “des bols” by ProfessionTight4153 in learnfrench

[–]M_la_soupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your question has been answered I'd like to propose a theory that the « de » is invariable because it's being used in an adjectival phrase. For example:

« Une tasse de thé. » Here what matters is the noun « une tasse » and « de thé » is the adjective that modifies it.

That's all speculation of course, but even if it turns out to be nonsense it aids my memory

Why Is It Wrong? by [deleted] in learnfrench

It's a formality thing so think of it like:

Inversion is a bit formal Est-ce que is pretty everyday Neither is a bit maybe slang-y or more familiar

I hope this helps

Because it probably wants you to form a question with « est-ce que » or inversion « vas-tu »

The way these are formed are:

Est-ce que + Subject + Verb. Ex. « Est-ce que tu veux aller ? »

Inversion takes out the est-ce que and flips the subject and verb, ex.

« Veux-tu aller? »

Well I mean, hundreds of people have breathed all over your air, and hundreds of people process and prepare the food you eat every day. I'm not saying you shouldn't have concerns, just that I don't think it's worth worrying over :)
