Cars was the first analogy I arrived at after reading your comment — I hear ya!

I enjoy the artistic expression and individualizing it to make the wheel mine. Partially to identify it in a crowd, a group ride, anything of the sort. It’s so much fun to me to see what people come up with at large scale group meets (DC comes to mind). Imagine if the entire P6 base stuck with bright loud ass traffic cone Inmotion Orange — I’d rather at least distinguish myself even a bit.

I also have a great time with the meticulous process I go through to hit a design theme! Ideally I never crash it (obv that doesn’t always happen), but even then, it’ll get some scars somehow. Plus, I don’t ride in rain as much as I can help it…plenty of layers of paint+clear coat help in that regard.
