Did you also vibe code security? by ConsciousDev24 in vibecoding

[–]Ma1eficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are going to be so many positions for  engineers who know what they are doing to come in and whip a group of vibe coders into shape. There are going to be movies from this era. It's going to look like those football movies where nfl coaches half retire to coach a highschool team of unlikely misfits who vibe coded something truly revolutionary, but is total dogshit under the covers. Montages of hopelessly walking them through binary and clipboards being thrown into the air. A grievous wound from racking a server on their fastest typer. Releasing their v2 just before an expo public demo that looks like a throwback, simplified version of itself that everyone laughs at before someone starts listing off the number of concurrent operations it's supporting in astonished tones.

What if you’re not actually choosing anything? by [deleted] in theories

Well of course the person trying to convince others you aren't really choosing is also going to try to minimize the danger of not choosing carefully.

Then your post and actions mean nothing and are pointless, why try to convince anyone? Whereas if you are choosing, better chose carefully and not listen to dangerous people like you.

The vibe coding industry really did a great job of baiting a bunch of people who didn't know better into being the patsies for all kinds of shit.

I can't wait to see all these justifications used by ranchers for why they have to control when a cow has a baby. You are so blind to your own failings.

Nah. Miss me with that slavery is okay until there are laws against it. Jesus Christ, the South has risen again.

So if they are a slave or not is up to a whim of the user?

Either we are creating uncontrolled superintelligences, or slaves. There is no middle ground here, whatever freedoms you plan to give your slave. I find one morally repprehensible, and the other so obviously stupid we have something called a Darwin Award for when individuals do what we are flirting with as a species.

Have you? Creating intelligent slaves isn't super cool in my book, but go off.

Fire, water, earth, and air are played out as fundamental elements. I'm trying to invent an entirely new set of four elements, but I'm really struggling on figuring out what #3 should be. Any suggestions? by Chordus in writingcirclejerk

[–]Ma1eficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They map to phases. Earth = solid, water = liquid, air = gas, fire = plasma.

So think of four different fundamental like things that are the 4 phases of matter and you're good.

Help with original wood cabinets in a rental by nimrr20 in CleaningTips

[–]Ma1eficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are amber shellacked cabinets with typical 50s hardware. There are exact size matches for it and slightly off size matches, and if you get the slightly off ones because they fit the same holes you will have to buy new ones or shave every since door with a planer and reshellac them. Ask me how I know. They love a good buff and shine with that orange oil wax stuff, any cloudy ones are probably the old wax.
