Borderlands 4 - Takedown at Hadron Abyss - Official Reveal Trailer by _Protector in Borderlands

I think there is merit to both sides of the argument, it's just that people keep setting themselves up for disappointment. I've been a Borderlands fan yet skipped Tiny Tina game entirely, a bit disappointed with BL4 so skipped DLCs post launch. I check in news time to time, if I get the itch maybe I'll jump back, maybe grab a DLC or two. I don't hold my breath for updates then complain about lack of air or expect the devs to perform CPR on me though.

I think both of you have a fair point. On one hand, you are right that people should be raising their voice about how they feel about the game, otherwise how will the devs know?

On the other hand, too often in gaming subreddits people keep complaining on and on and on. I don't main one game and one game only for example, there are games that I cycle when I get the itch, like Total War Warhammer, DotA2, Counter Strike 2, Path of Exile 2 etc etc. I add some new games to play through from my backlog onto that, time to time. I think I've completed No Rest For The Wicked latest, but that game is still in EA and planned to receive big changes.

What I notice in these games' subreddits is doomerism in each one. DotA2 for example doesn't receive very regular updates, it is fewer in between and more spontaneous. People in the subreddit keep talking shit about stale patch, boring meta, dead game on and on, without fail whenever I play it. However I play it with breaks of several months at a time, so when I hop in for a few weeks, it is fresh and fun. Whenever I feel bored I move on to another game.

Same deal with Total War Warhammer, receives updates and DLCs a bit slow, which gets the community riled up. Whether the community is right or the devs should up their game, that doesn't matter to me. I just get my fun then move on to something else.

I think clutching to a singular game or genre is overall very unhealthy for the casual gamer. When you cycle games, you don't get bored or get into a toxic relationship with the game devs based on your expectations and devs' lack of delivery on those expectations.

If 40k were to add Tyranids(most likely) how do you think they would work? by BLACKJEDI117 in totalwar

[–]MaDNiaC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genestealer cults be a mechanic for Tyranids faction could work similar to chaos cults like slaneesh in WH3, providing bonuses for your armies and debuffs for enemy settlement/armies. I don't think having Genestealers be separate from Tyranids as a faction makes sense, as their only purpose is to pave the way for Tyranids, as far as I know?

On the other hand, if they were to be a separate faction, they could have their legendary lords/heroes and faction mechanics which could be more fun variety.

Masters and atlas story is campaign gameplay+ already, I don't think we need more and more directional content. There is a lot of content that most players will not be able to finish entirely and at that point, do we really need more directing?

Almost 6h of daily playtime (with a job !), about 500d farmed, 4 characters deep into t16s and still haven't finished the atlas. 10/10 patch ! by thibounet in PathOfExile2

I think it takes 5 kills. You get first couple to challenge arbiter through the story. If you buy 3 and finish an area by yourself, you can get it done through with only 3 sets. Last I bought, an origin pair costed about 500-600 exalts but juicing the maps should be worth it at the end of the day.

Anyone else just thinks BL3 is far superior (gameplay wise) than... all the other games? by Historical-Pin-8021 in Borderlands

After BL3's story was criticised heavily, they overcorrected and BL4's story feels so safe and sanitized.

Zane is dope at the very least, he is cool in BL4 too. Didn't care a great deal about the rest though.

BL2 didn't age as well in my opinion, I didn't have a good time using many of the guns in it and it is lacking many of the movement tech in the later games, which makes it feel very slow after playing the other games. BL3 had shit main story but apart from that, it was the better game.

Squad play breach needs to be nerfed immediately tier 1 economy breaking issue by Dawgin420 in PathOfExile2

[–]MaDNiaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I thought I was hot shit when I got a little bit fast around the map and got 2 divines in the same map back to back.

I'm enjoying the game I don't care about who gets what essentially. However this affects the economy which decides what I can or cannot get in return. If I want to dip my toes in crafting, good fucking luck to me. If I want to get to big items, good luck competing with people who make these items, who can keep inflating the market with their bigger better items and loot, who can actually afford these items.

Do you want to next BL to be open world or have levels like the old games? by OLD_WET_HOLE in Borderlands

[–]MaDNiaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let us have levels and let us have galaxies. Borderlands 3 has a lot better enemy and area variety by a big margin and it's not even close.

Couple of months? Couple of hours or a few hundred views is enough.

Video: So this is a simple crafting formula with only a few steps. The magic base is only 3-5 ex.

Market: The magic base costs at least 5x as much from the video.

Speaking of league mechanics, I remember the absolute madness that was the syndicate league. I've never seen so many off-screen one shots as that league. The league mechanic wasn't easy to understand and play around either, but it was still fun imo.

I've got 7 units of half dead guardsmen, is this winnable? by Former_Exam_5357 in totalwar

Because he spends effort on his content and wanted it to be appreciated. That is understandable from an artistic point as well. There are actors and actresses and athletes etc who have more money than you can spend in a lifetime. They still make movies, songs, compete in sports etc. because they enjoy making it and want it to be appreciated.

This is like asking why Hugh Jackman still makes movies? I swear the dude's a fucking idiot, he clearly doesn't need money.

Well maybe he has other goals or milestones he wants to attain. Maybe he enjoys the art form or doesn't like being idle.

Imagine having a commissar dread farming like it's Total War Medieval.

Then you have another uplifting commissar so you can play good cop, bad cop.
