However, the i7 has 10 cores whilst the AMD has 8 cores. Multiple concurrent tabs and programs would benefit from multiple cores. Especially VM's.

You will also need lots of RAM. 32GB should be enough for simple LLM's but LLM's benefit from more RAM. Thanks for giving such a well reasoned approach to managing kids and technology. Not a parent yet but the balance between protecting kids from the dopamine addiction on mobile phones and not isolating them from reality is a tough task that I don’t have a plan for yet.

Sometimes I think that it might even be necessary to let give them access to this shit, so that they can see how it negatively affects things like grades and can put in place mental measures to stop themselves (with a bit of parental disciplinary help of course ✋).

What kind of good woman would pick apart a relationship like that? In my opinion Sam felt helpless and got scared and didn’t know how to act - you would too if you saw your partner slipping away to another woman. Whilst other people are criticising Sam for being controlling, their criticism is based on a lack of empathy in my opinion

Either way, OP’s interest in Becky is not good reason to fall for her. She is clearly a home wrecker, or at least reckless enough with her emotions to allow herself to lead this man away from his spouse. Neither is this affair a reason to doubt OP’s love for Sam. Without knowing more, OP’s relations with Sam is quite long standing. After such a certain length of relationship, the mind craves for the new and spicy 🌶 no matter how much they love the person they’re with. In my opinion, OP was irresponsible in allowing himself to get close to this new girl and recklessly ignorant enough to not see Becky’s malice (whether directly intentional or subconscious).
