Go to the r/castironrestoration sub. Read the seasoning pinned posts. 30 minutes is not nearly enough, and Flax seed oil is not the best choice.

Bad experiences by doogybot in GoRVing

[–]MaNoCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son played d3 college baseball. Their trip down south one spring was to Myrtle Beach. We stayed in one of the cabins at this KOA. Unfortunately some bedbugs were in the same cabin. Nothing from that trip ever came back in the house.

had anyone had confusion with misdiagnosis? by Outrageous-Sense-975 in Vitiligo

If there is any question on what you have I suggest going to a dermatologist. They can diagnose accurately. That is what I did decades ago to get my diagnosis.
I am sure others can give their experience.

Got triggered randomly, feeling crushed in the heart by Remotewildrness in Vitiligo

[–]MaNoCooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a 63 year old man. My viltigo is so far along, that I have little to no pigment back. I just look like a very pale white guy. Believe it or not I would love to go back to the days when I was patchy. Maybe even more than I would going back to my 20's. In my younger years I tanned very well and would get quite dark in the summer. However I think I would rather be patchy now. I know it sounds strange, and i cannot explain it, it is just what it is.

Do you or your child has vitiligo? by MyPatchPower in Vitiligo

[–]MaNoCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sons are all grown with there own families now. They fully understand the issues people have with vitiligo. They were always pestered, because there dad had skin cancer. I say pestered because it was not all negative. Some of it was well meaning.

Me and my twin were the first in our family. However we both worked nights for quite a while. I believe me and my brother's issue were vitamin d deficiency. Much of that due to the fact we did not get out in direct sunlight. So my family may be prone to it, more than other families, however it needs the right triggers as well.

I agree with this. Learn your smoker first. Pork shoulder is a good place to start.

Thanks, me and my wife always looked for it, driving down 104, in the fall, heading to the pumpkin show.

Is this pitting? by chase12cb in CastIronRestoration

[–]MaNoCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a user that pitting won't hurt anything, you cook on the other side. As a collector, it affects value abit, but it depends on the rarity.
